MEMORIAL OF ST. JOHN MARY VIANNEY, PRIEST - 2020

DAILY HOLY MASS READINGS

Rabbi, you are the Son of God; you are the King of Israel. JN 1:49B

JEREMIAH 30: 1-2, 12-15, 18-22

My Beloved, Soul of my soul,

After the tribulation, You always send healing and consolation for You are a God of love, tenderness, and compassion. When we sin, we bring upon ourselves punishment as a consequence of all the poor choices we make but You know that we are helpless without You. Thank You for never giving up on us no matter how grave our mistakes. Thank You, Father, for giving us Your Son, as our Brother, Savior, Redeemer, Messiah, and Friend. Thank You, Beloved, for forgiveness of sins through Your Sacrifice on Calvary, Thank You, Holy Spirit for the assurance that You abide in us always. Thank You, Lord, for Your continual intercession on our behalf before Your Father. Thank You, for Your assurance that You are our God and for claiming us as Your people, the sheep of Your flock.

PSALM 102:16-18, 19-21, 29, 22-23

My Beloved, Soul of my soul,

We are chosen by the Father and formed by the Holy Spirit as an inheritance to You, His only and most beloved Son. This is the Father’s will, that all creation gives You praise, for You are worthy of all glory, honor, and power. We are the privileged ones who, from all the people of the world have been granted the awesome gift of faith in You. We are baptized and grafted into Your Body. We receive life from You and live, move, and have our being in You. We are made partakers of Your divine life of grace and we have the assurance and hope of immortality when our mortal life ends. We will join the angels and the saints to offer You, our King of Kings and Lord of Lord, praise, glory, and honor in perfect joy, harmony, and peace always.

MATTHEW 15 1-2, 10-14

My Beloved, Soul of my soul,

In response to the accusation of the Pharisees and Scribes that You and Your disciples broke from tradition, You said, ‘Listen and understand. What goes into the mouth does not make a man unclean; it is what comes out of the mouth that makes him unclean.’ Many who are overly fastidious about their dietary and cleansing rituals are often indifferent to the practice of common human decency and understanding of those who do not hold the same beliefs. Their manic leaders pigheadedly lead their followers into blind alleys to the ultimate destruction of both leader and follower. With regard to such leaders, You advise that we leave them alone. No one can help those who doggedly, abusively, and violently refuse to pay heed to the Truth that alone can set us free.
