WEDNESDAY OF THE FOURTH WEEK OF EASTER - 2020

DAILY HOLY MASS READINGS

I am the light of the world, says the Lord;
whoever follows me will have the light of life. JN8:12

ACTS 12:24 --13:5A

My Beloved, Soul of my soul,

The most important prayer we make each day is the prayer to be guided by the Holy Spirit. Nothing we do will bear fruit if we are not inspired by and led by the Spirit of God.

The early Church in Antioch was on fire with the Holy Spirit and the work of evangelization bore great fruit. They all worked with one heart and one mind and did nothing without first praying and seeking Your will.

They teach us that once we know Your will we must set our own notions and plans aside and in obedience and humility do it. We also learn the power of praying and fasting as a community. You will deny us nothing when we come together to worship You with prayer and fasting.

PSALM 67:2-3, 5-6, 8

My Beloved, Soul of my soul,

You love us so much You that You have permitted us to experience this time of blessing. It is a time when people of every nation are coming together to seek Your Face in our homes. The Church is here, in the first small community of our family.

We are given an opportunity to do what we neglected to do in the past.  Families are coming together every day to pray, to read Your Word, to ponder it, to participate virtually in the Holy Mass, make Spiritual Communions, pray the Rosary, as well as to play and share the daily domestic tasks.

It is no small thing that we are being taught values we had forgotten. Time, once so scarce is now all we have and we are rediscovering joy in You and in each other. May the good fruit borne in this time will fill the earth with its goodness. May joy and peace prevail among the peoples of every nation for a long, long time to come.

JOHN 12:44-50

My Beloved, Soul of my soul,

We are strange creatures. Some of us perhaps because we are a little self-righteous desire a God who is full of wrath at those who do not worship You as they do. There are others who know that we can presume nothing. You are God and You are free to do as You please and it pleases You to do Your Father's will always.

God created every human being with a purpose and a plan and each one's path to You is different. Let us not be impatient with each other but pray for one another and have faith that in the end, God has the power to ultimately lead everyone to You by the path that He has mapped out for them.
