DAILY HOLY MASS READINGS

If we love one another, God remains in us
and his love is brought to perfection in us. 1 Jn 4:12
Genesis 2:18-24, Psalm 128:1-6, Hebrews 2:9-11,
Mark 10:2-16

Genesis 2:18-24

My Love, Beloved of my soul,

God in His graciousness gave us dominion over all the creatures of the earth, we know this because He gave Adam the privilege of naming each of them. Not one of these, however, was a suitable mate for him and so God put the man to deep sleep, this was going to be God's masterpiece. Taking a rib from his side He fashioned woman, a fitting helpmate for the man. No matter what the culture of the day dictates, no matter what is the mantra that the world repeats raucously until the din is maddening, God created man and woman to form a lifelong Covenant of love in marriage. This is God's will. To do His will must be the delight of the world only then will order, sanity, and wisdom be restored to our fallen world.So the LORD God cast a deep sleep on the man,
and while he was asleep,
he took out one of his ribs and closed up its place with flesh.
The LORD God then built up into a woman the rib
that he had taken from the man.
When he brought her to the man, the man said:
"This one, at last, is bone of my bones
and flesh of my flesh;
this one shall be called 'woman, '
for out of 'her man' this one has been taken."
That is why a man leaves his father and mother
and clings to his wife,
and the two of them become one flesh.

Psalm 128:1-6

My Love, Beloved of my soul,

Grant me the grace to attend Holy Mass more frequently in order that I may receive You in the Holy Eucharist. Grant that I may always have a proper awe and reverence for You that I may walk in the Way You have revealed to us. Grant my Beloved that all those I love, those closest to my heart, will be blessed abundantly always. Help me to fulfill my vocation as a wife, a mother, and whatever else it is that You ask of me.

Give me a receptive heart, an open ear, and a submissive spirit so I may always yield to You. Hear my prayers and my intercessions and answer in accordance with Your will. Amen.

Hebrews 2:9-11

My Love, Beloved of my soul,

Ever since the fall of our first parents suffering is the lot of the human condition. We cannot escape it. It is intrinsically wrapped up with what we have inherited through the fall - we are weak, we are deeply flawed. Created in the image of God we have through disobedience become easily prone to sin. This is why the Father asked You His most Beloved Son, to become for a while, less than the angels. To put on flesh and become like one of us for a while so that through that flesh, which is subject too readily concupiscence, You might suffer torments so hideous, taking upon Yourself the sins of all humanity, offering a remedy to our tainted flesh by redeeming it once again by Your Sacrifice on the Cross, a once for all, holy, and perfect Sacrifice making atonement to the Father for the sins of the whole world.

It is right and fitting that You are now raised far above all angels and all created things in heaven, on earth and under the earth and all that lives offer You unending praise, adoration, love, and worship. This was always the Father's will, to raise You up as Lord over all. And because our origin too is in God who created us, You gladly welcome us into the family of God when we are grafted to You in Baptism.

May we never be afraid of the way of suffering that purifies.

Mark 10:2-16

My Love, Beloved of my soul,

The Word of God reveals the intention of God very clearly with regard to marriage. There are no two ways about it. When a man and woman make vows before God those vows are binding because we call God to witness the Covenant the couple makes to each other. This is why divorce is wrong. It is a sin against love that by its very nature is selfless, giving all of oneself to the other without measure and without limits.

"Whoever divorces his wife and marries another
commits adultery against her;
and if she divorces her husband and marries another,
she commits adultery."

Children are a delight to God this is why we must always remain childlike and simple. In our world children, a being corrupted almost as soon as they are born. Any parents and those having power who deny children access to You will incur Your terrible wrath just as the disciples did.

And people were bringing children to him that he might touch them,
but the disciples rebuked them.
When Jesus saw this he became indignant and said to them,
"Let the children come to me;
do not prevent them, for the kingdom of God belongs to
such as these.
Amen, I say to you,
whoever does not accept the kingdom of God like a child
will not enter it."
Then he embraced them and blessed them,
placing his hands on them.
