A great prophet has arisen in our midst

1 Corinthians 2:10B-16

My Love, Beloved of my soul,

Thank You for the Gift of the Holy Spirit. It is the Spirit alone who discerns the depths of God for the Spirit is God's own Spirit. To those in the past, it was not given to know God as we do for He had not yet sent You into the world. But to us who believe in the Good News are given the honor and the privilege of knowing You, our Savior, and in knowing You, we know God.

We do are unable to sit in judgment on one another either for good or ill but each one of us who know our own selves better than anyone is able to judge ourselves rightly. Knowing to what depths I can sink Beloved, may I refrain from condemning others rather, may I seek constantly to root out the weeds in my own life. Amen.

Psalm 145:8-14

My Love, Beloved of my soul,

Thank You for the wonderful assurances of Your gracious mercy and kindness in the verses of this psalm. They are truly a comfort and balm for my sinful soul.

Grant O Lord, that despite the fact that I am a sinner and will continue to sin as long as there is breath in my body for I am a fallen creature, may I never fail to run to You, cling to You and beg for forgiveness and pardon. Let me never fail to have this confidence in You and in Your love for me.

You are faithful even when I am faithless and You will remain faithful to the end. Thank You.

Luke 4:31-37

My Love, Beloved of my soul,

No demon has the power to destroy those who have been baptized and who have given their lives to You. Yes, Satan will try until the last breath we draw to bring us to ruin and eternal damnation. But You O Lord are greater. If sinners like myself, cling to You, plead with You, and run to You each time we fall, You will pick us up the wounded sheep that we are, and carry it on Your shoulder. You will minister to it. You will wash it with the Blood that flowed from Your side, and You will feed it with Your Flesh and strengthen it.

I beg forgiveness Lord. Wash me, cleanse me, feed me, strengthen me. Amen.
