DAILY HOLY MASS READINGS

God so loved the world that he gave his only-begotten Son,
so that everyone who believes in him might have eternal life.

1 Corinthians 11:17-26, 33

My Love, Beloved of my soul,

Division is the work of Satan; we see a world divided and torn apart on so many levels that it is impossible to count. We are fragmented and we keep breaking into ever smaller pieces because each group is adamant and stubborn. There is no room for love, no understanding, no finding of common ground, no wisdom, in fact, there is no God. Where God is there is peace, there is harmony, there is the Holy Spirit.

The one place that must unite all God's people is when we come together to celebrate the Lord's Supper. We come as a family, as a community, to eat the Flesh and drink the Blood of the Son of Man, the Son of God, in order that we may receive strength for the journey. But even here You will hear some boasting that the form of the Holy Mass that they celebrate is somehow superior. The Eucharist is the Eucharist and You are fully present no matter in what rite we celebrate it.

Thank You Beloved for becoming our food and drink. When we come together let it be a time of unity rather than division for when we are divided we play into the hands of Satan.

Psalm 40:7-10, 17

My Love, Beloved of my soul,

At every celebration of the Eucharist, Beloved, we are called to proclaim Your death until You come again.

Although You are the Son of God, You were obedient to the Father's will even unto death on the Cross. God so loved us that He sent You into the world so that whoever believes in You will not perish but have eternal life.

Thank You, Beloved of my soul, for Your yes to the Father's plan. Because You lay down Your life for the sins of all the world justice has been met and the price has been paid for our iniquity.

May we never cease to give You praise and glory from the rising of the sun to its setting until You come again to proclaim Your Lordship over the living and the dead. Maranatha Lord Jesus, Maranatha!

Luke 7:1-10

My Love, Beloved of my soul,

You did not leave one place for another until You had said and done all that You set out to do and say. In today's Gospel passage we are told of a centurion, a Roman and an enemy of the people who had a slave who was so sick he was dying. The centurion was a good and generous man and this is why, when he approached the elders to come to You and ask You to heal his servant they did so readily. They interceded on his behalf. We see here the power of intercession.

The centurion was also humble. If there is one trait that is sure to please God everytime it is genuine humility. A truly humble person is not presumptuous.

When the officer was aware that You had almost reached his home he sent word asking You not to trouble Yourself to enter his home for he was unworthy all he asked is for You to command the illness to leave and it would be done. His faith is truly astounding and this is why, because it is so rare even among those who one would assume would have a vibrant faith, that You remarked on it. This reveals to us that humility and faith go together. We must approach You in humility and we must believe that all we ask for in faith You will grant us.

Jesus, meek and humble of heart, make my heart like unto Thine. Amen.
