Sirach 48:1-14, Psalm 97:1-7, Matthew 6:7-15

DAILY HOLY MASS READINGS

You have received a spirit of adoption as sons
through which we cry: Abba! Father! Romans 8:15

Sirach 48:1-14, Psalm 97:1-7, Matthew 6:7-15

Sirach 48:1-14

Dear Love, Beloved of my soul,

The writer Sirach is praising the two great prophets Elijah and Elisha who were filled with the Holy Spirit and in the Name of God and the power of God performed amazing miracles. Elijah called down drought at the mighty Word of God. Both he and Elisha raised the dead to life because they were mighty in the might of the Lord.

We too are called to be prophets in our time Beloved. We are assured that You who performed greater miracles than Elijah and Elisha have assured us that we will do greater miracles than You because You have put Your Own Holy Spirit into us.

But ours is a weak faith. If we had the courage and the conviction of our faith Beloved we would transform the world.

We need a new Pentecost Beloved. We need the current of grace to pass once again more powerfully than it ever did in Your Church and through the Church to the world.

We believe Beloved, let us put faith into action.

Psalm 97:1-7

Dear Love, Beloved of my soul,

We know that You, our God, are a consuming Fire. We ask Beloved for this Fire to fall once more upon Your Church. This Church that was brought forth through the pangs of Your passion, suffering, and death and at the piercing of Your  Side and Your Mother's heart.

The Church was conceived in pain and was born in the Fire of the Holy Spirit. We are triumphant because You have triumphed. We are victorious because You won the victory for us. We are no longer children of Adam and Eve but belong to the New Adam and the New Eve and God Himself is our Abba.

All those who bow down before graven images and worship them You will also win over to Yourself through us. Let us not be afraid Beloved to proclaim the Good News that we are saved not by might, nor by power, but by the Blood of the Lamb who takes away the sins of the world.

Matthew 6:7-15

Dear Love, Beloved of my soul,

Thank You for teaching us to pray. Thank You for showing us how to bring our needs before the Father in order that our prayer may be pleasing in His sight. Thank You for the prayer that guarantees an answer for it is taught to us by the Son of the Father who knows how to make intercession on our behalf. If we pray as You have taught us if we interceded as You have shown us, then we are assured that our Father in heaven will open the treasuries of grace and flood our souls and the souls we pray for with every grace and blessing in the heavenly places.

However, it is necessary for us to forgive only then can we hope to be forgiven and heard. We are to come before the Father like children confident that our Abba who delights to give us good things will surely give us all we ask for and more when we ask rightly. Thank You.

"Your Father knows what you need before you ask him.

This is how you are to pray:

'Our Father who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name,
thy Kingdom come,
thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread;
and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.'

"If you forgive others their transgressions,
your heavenly Father will forgive you.
But if you do not forgive others,

neither will your Father forgive your transgressions."
