2 Timothy 1:1-3, 6-12
Dear Love, Beloved of my soul,
Paul had the heart of a true father for Timothy. He loved him dearly and prayed for him constantly. This is our call as well. We are called to pray always for those we love. We are to bring them before the Throne of Mercy and Grace and make their needs, especially spiritual needs, known to You who know all things and ask You to grant them all they need according to Your riches and mercy.
We are called to encourage them to grow in faith and set it alight. You desire us to be on fire with love and zealous in sharing the Good News that saves. It is good for us to be reminded that in the power of the Spirit we are battle-ready, prepared to take up any and all challenges, trusting in the Spirit to give us all we need for combat. When we are empowered with the gifts of the Spirit, with love, and with the discipline of self-control and above all with humility, we will be ready to lay down our lives for the sake of the Gospel.
We are called to be holy; we are called to cooperate with the free gift of grace made available to us, in order to live a life of service to God and to others in accordance with the promptings of the Holy Spirit. We know that our faith in You is not in vain and in the end You will ensure that we reach safely home and not only us Beloved, but all whom we have prayed for in this life.
Psalm 123:1B-2AB, 2CDEF
Dear Love, Beloved of my soul,
Keep my gaze ever upon Your countenance. You, My Lord, are seated in glory at the right hand of the Father; enthroned above all and receiving all our prayers of intercession and making intercession to the Father on our behalf without ceasing night and day.
Just as the eyes of the servant are constantly upon their masters, alert to their every wish and command, so my Beloved, keep my gaze ever upon You and upon Your Blessed Mother so that I will be able to discern Your most holy will and do what pleases both You and Your Mother always. I have recourse to none but You Beloved and I know that You will keep me and mine safe in Your Sacred Heart and in the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
Mark 12:18-27
Dear Love, Beloved of my soul,
When the Sadducees approached You their intention was to make You look foolish by their condescending question. They thought they had You but as always You settled the question with an answer that silenced them. This is why You assure us as well, not to try and come up with a defense when we are hauled before the courts of the world for Your Sake and for the Gospel. The Holy Spirit who is our Advocate, our Paraclete, our Helper, will give us words that will astound our hearers.
At the Supper of the Lamb, and at the Great Banquet, the Marriage Feast, You will present the Church, Your Bride to the Father.
Death no longer has power over us for You have won the victory we will not die but live.
