Nehemiah 9:1-12
Dear Love, Beloved of my soul,
We see here a shadow of how our Liturgy in the Catholic Church is celebrated. The new people of God men, women, and children old enough to understand, gather together as a community, as the family of the Most High to praise You, bless You, adore You, worship You, offer You thanksgiving. Your Word in Sacred Scripture is read.
We have the Liturgy of the Word read aloud and interpreted by Your anointed, the priest. We listen attentively as we are fed on this spiritual food that opens our minds to understand God's will for us, how He dealt with the chosen people in the past all through salvation history and how He deals with us now through You His only Son and how He guides and helps us through the Holy Spirit.
In the celebration of the Holy Eucharist we call to mind our sins, we cry out for mercy and pardon, we strike our breasts and confess that we are sinners who are truly contrite. We are forgiven for we know that You are mercy and once cleansed we are ready to climb the mountain of the Lord, the new Zion and there we offer the Lamb of Sacrifice who was slain for us and whose Blood cleanses us, sanctifies us, quenches us. We offer the sacrifice of our own sinful lives in union with You to the Father in the power of the Spirit. We are strengthened as a community to go out into the world and share what we have received and to make disciples. We go out rejoicing as we tell the world what God has done for us and how He has saved us through Your life, Your Passion, Your Death, and Your glorious Resurrection.
Psalm 19:8-11
Dear Love, Beloved of my soul,
As the new people of God, chosen before the foundations of the world were laid, we believe that the Law of the Lord which is the Law of Love is the rule of our life. It gives us wisdom and understanding. It provided life for our soul, and light to our steps.
You have given us the new commandment, love God above and before all with all the strength and fervor of your body, soul, and spirit and love your neighbor not only as you love yourself, but you are challenged to love them as I love. Do this as You will find that the Kingdom of God already with you.
The treasures of the Sacraments, its rich graces and blessings with strengthen you every day for as long as you live and draw breath on earth and fill your mouth with the Bread of Angels which wells up to eternal life.
Luke 10:1-12
Dear Love, Beloved of my soul,
By virtue of my baptism I am a disciple and as Your anointed I am given a mission. Every day I am to go about manifesting You in my life. I must truly image You in the world in thought, word, and deed, in the things I do and in the things I refrain from doing. I am called to be tireless in my mission. If I am made welcome then those who receive the Word and believe will be saved and blessed. Those who hear and reject You will be held accountable for they missed the moment of Your visitation.
Help me to always remember that I am called to be an ambassador of peace and love, not hate and division. Amen.
