Colossians 3:1-11

Dear Love, Beloved of my soul,

Paul invites us today to set aside the old sinful self that lived in the flesh. Now that we have come to the knowledge of Truth we are called to live a life of grace that is granted to all who believe. Rooted in You who are our Rock and our Foundation, who are the Vine that supplies us with strength to overcome our inherent weaknesses, it is possible for  us to desire and to will the things that are eternal. All things are possible to those who  believe in You, hope in You, and place all their trust in You.

You died our death so we can put to death the things that enslave our soul and by Your Resurrection we are set free in the freedom that You won for us on the Cross. As Christians we are now children of light, grace, and truth, God is our Father, we are filled with the Holy Spirit. You make it possible for us to put to death the old sinful self and bear good fruit that will last.

Psalm 145:2-3, 10-13

Dear Love, Beloved of y soul,

Today the psalmist reminds us that we who are the work of Your hands will always find in You compassion and loving kindness. Prompted by love and gratitude for all You have done for us it is truly right and fitting that we bless and praise Your Name as long as there is breath in us. Truly You are great and You have done great, glorious, and marvelous deeds. Thank You for the work of salvation that set us free.  Thank You for the mission given to us to make You known and loved everywhere.

Luke 6:20-26

Dear Love, Beloved of my soul,

In the Beatitudes You have given us a blue print to live a life of happiness and grace no matter what our circumstances. These are the traits of Your Own character as the Son of Man and through grace received granted to us by the Holy Spirit and channeled to us through the Sacraments we can strive to live as You did and know joy in the midst of sorrow and plenty in the midst of want.

We live in an age where all those who follow You and are called by Your Name suffer persecution and discrimination in  some form or other. Let us not be bitter, or angry but count it all joy for You assure us that our reward will be great in heaven.
