Nahum 2:1, 3, 3:1-3, 6-7,
Deuteronomy 32:35-36, 39, 41,
Matthew 16:24-28

Nahum 2:1, 3, 3:1-3, 6-7

My soul's beloved, on Your holy mountain, the place where You are pleased to dwell in fullness although hidden in humility in the Sacred Host. You are the Bearer of Good News, the Eternal Word of Life, Love and Hope, the Prince of Peace who has saved the world. There is laughter, and joy, feasting and merry making, songs of praise, adoration, and worship, and music for You have destroyed death, You are victorious over evil, You have crushed the Enemy. The devourer has fled and Your people, whom You have saved rejoice.

However, those who belong to the world will perish. Even as they kill will they be killed. Even as they destroy will they be destroyed. Even as they go on rampage to assuage their insatiable hunger and thirst to satisfy the demands of their flesh their very desire and its fulfillment will bring them to their end. Death can only bring death as life can only generate life.

Thank You my soul's beloved for Your warning through the prophets may we heed and experience true conversion of heart.

Deuteronomy 32:35-36, 39, 41

My soul's beloved, once again we hear that it is You alone who can kill or give life. If we do not heed the voice of wisdom then we will surely die. But those who believe in You will receive justice for no hand raised against Your people can prosper. We can rest content that despite all the persecution by the enemies of Truth it will prevail.

It is I who bring both death and life,
I who inflict wounds and heal them.”

“With vengeance I will repay my foes
and requite those who hate me.”

Matthew 16:24-28

My soul's beloved, we now hear from Your own mouth what everyone who desires to be Your disciple must be ready to face. It is not an easy road but one that requires self-discipline, constant war against ones flesh, the world and the devil. In order to gain life we must like You, be willing to lay it down for the sake of our sisters and brothers. It is only in the losing of it can we save it. Not all the gold, silver, power and influence in the world can compensate for the eternal death of the soul.

We have Your promise that those who choose life will receive a share in Your inheritance in the Kingdom of Heaven and You Yourself will come to meet us when this perishable life of our comes to its close.
