FEAST OF THE MOST HOLY TRINITY
Proverbs 8:22-31, Romans 5:1-5, Palm 8:4-9, John 16:12-15
Proverbs 8:22-31
My soul’s beloved, today the Church celebrates the feast of
the Most Holy Trinity. One God, three Persons. In the Book of Wisdom we are
given a glimpse into the nature of the Third Person, the Holy Spirit. In the Spirit of God is Beauty, Truth, Purity, Joy, Laughter, One who is Delight to the
Creator. Childlike, and One with God from all eternity. This is the same Holy
Spirit that has been poured into our soul at Baptism, who is the channel
through which we receive grace. Through whom we experience the love of the
Father and Son and who draws us into that same love making us One with the
Triune God through the power of love.
Romans 5:1-5
My soul’s beloved, faith is a gift we receive at our
Baptism. Without faith it would be impossible for us to believe the Truth about
God revealed to us through You. We would be unable to grasp the truth about the
reality of sin and the need for a Savior, nor would we be able to understand how
much God loves us, and to what lengths He was prepared to go to restore what was
lost forever.
Through You we have been made
children of the Most High and heirs to the Kingdom and we are promised a
share in His glory. We understand the value of suffering and why it is only
through suffering that we are able to grow in virtue. For through trials we learn patience and God
rewards us and hope is granted to us. A hope that fills us with joy through the
Holy Spirit that has been given to us and who pours the love of God into our
hearts. This is why Christians are able to live joyfully no matter what our
circumstances for our faith, hope and love are gifts that cannot be taken away
from us.
Palm 8:4-9
My soul’s beloved, we are the crown of God’s creation. To us
is given custody of the earth and all in it. You have made provision for us and
You have revealed to us the awesome plan of God who desires that we share all
things on earth and in heaven when we live a life that is led by Your Spirit.
John 16:12-15
My soul’s beloved, thank You for the Gift of the Holy Spirit
without whom it would be impossible to know God, if we did not know Him we
would be able to experience His love and we would not be able to find meaning
and purpose for our lives in joyful service to God and to neighbor.
