DAILY HOLY MASS READINGS
Numbers 21:4-9, Psalm 102:2-3,16-21, John 8:21-30
Numbers 21:4-9
My Beloved, it is easy to get discouraged when the journey
becomes difficult. We are easily bored, the tedium of daily routine can sometimes becomes burdensome and we begin to find fault with everything. We
murmur, we find fault and we make ourselves so miserable by our constant
whining that we fail to see the wonderful things that God is doing for us and in
us. We focus on the problem and become fixated with it failing to lift up our eyes and call out to
You from whom we receive everything good and perfect. It is easy to narrow our
vision until we can only see what is wrong and fail to see the larger picture.
The remedy for sin is
to look at the One who became the Victim for sin, the One we stretched and
nailed to the Cross, whose arms were flung wide open as if to embrace the whole
world .It was love that held You prisoner and has You hung there dying, gasping
painfully for each breath You invite us to look at You and be healed. In You is
our remedy, divine Healer and Savior of our souls who now makes unceasing
intercession for us before the throne of
God as we offer to Him the only pleasing Sacrifice of Calvary in expiation for
our sins and he sins of he whole world..
Psalm 102:2-3,16-21
My Beloved, I thank You for always being present to us. You
make Your dwelling place among the children of God so You always hear our cries
and our prayers. Every time we call to You for help You hasten to our side and
minister to us providing food and drink to nourish our souls. You have already
gained victory over the world and have vanquished evil yet the world denies Your Kingship and rule over
all people and all nations. But even if many choose to be blind to the Truth
nevertheless Your Kingdom is already among us. Thank You for hearing our
prayers and for the consolation that You are forming a people who will praise
You. Thank You for keeping Your gaze on us and for the consolation that You are
always with us. Thank You for forgiveness of sins. Thank You for healing and
strength and providing us with all we need as we keep our gaze on You and walk
with You beside us all our days.
John 8:21-30
My Beloved, while You were with the chosen people of God
they did not recognize You, the Father sent You to His own but they rejected
You and were unable to see beyond the constraints of their narrow
interpretation of the Law. They were so bogged down with their own vision of
the Messiah that they missed Your coming completely. So hidebound were they
with their own wisdom that they were unable to fathom the wisdom of God let
alone grasp it. You knew that only when they had lifted You up then they would
realize that You are indeed the great I AM sent by the Father to reveal His
identity to the world through You and thus draw all of us to Yourself.
My Beloved, we can understand only if we are ready to leave
aside our own human reasoning and rely wholly on the Holy Spirit to lead and guide us to the Truth which is
embodied in You.
