Daniel 3:14-20, 91, 92,95

My Beloved, Daniel and his companions teach us that we can trust God's faithfulness in keeping all His promises. He never fails those who put their trust in Him. If we are faithful, if we are prepared to die for the sake of the Gospel, then we can be sure that the God of Life and Truth will Himself come to our aid and rescue us from the fowler’s net. No weapon formed against us will succeed. The furnace was heated up to a temperature that would reduce the body to ash in an instant but neither Daniel nor his friends were even singed. No one can outdo You in faithfulness and love. Daniel and his companions defied the king although he had favored them and the king was furious at their refusal to bow down to the golden idol set up by the king.

There is a grave temptation Beloved to set up false gods and to permit them to come between our love for You and prevent us from giving You the place of honor due to You. The result is that we destroy ourselves as we become consumed by the very things that take us away from You. But if we stand firm, You Yourself will come to our help. You will strengthen us and Your mighty arm will deliver us and the very ones who persecuted us will be filled with awe at the marvels that You will work in favor of those who love You.
