Isaiah 49:8-15
My Beloved, my Lord and my God, although it may have seemed
that God had forsaken His people and had
abandoned them, all the while He was forming a people from whom He would bring
forth Salvation to all who were crying out to Him for help. At a time that God
deemed favorable He sent You into the world not to condemn it but to reveal the
Face of His Mercy to us. He had not forgotten the Covenant He swore and
ratified in Your Blood. You have thrown the gates of heaven wide open and all
who enter because of Your Name, the Name through which we are saved for there
is no other, we will know neither hunger nor thirst, the noon day sun will not
scorch us for You our Lord and our God will lead us to the springs of life
giving water that flows from Your Sacred Heart. We will drink of the goodness
of God and be strengthened. We will be
refreshed and receive new life. You will never forget the price that You paid
in order that we be saved. Even if a mother forgets the babe at her breast and
has no compassion for the child she carries is her womb as is the case in our age where
abortion is rampant and the slaughter of innocents is unabated, You O Lord will
never forgot that we are redeemed by the Blood of the Lamb.
Psalm 145:8-9,13-14,17-18
My Beloved, You can be trusted to be true to every promise
You have made and we can count on Your faithfulness even when we are faithless.
You, O Lord, as the psalmist reminds us are compassionate and gracious, slow to
anger and abounding in love. You are good to all and Your mercy embraces us all
despite the fact that we fall constantly and fail miserably. You are attentive
to every tremulous sigh for help and You hasten to lift us up, carry us,
bandage our wounds and care for us. The weaker we are the more we can rely on
Your help and Your strength. You hear every sincere cry and will deliver on every
one of Your promises. Salvation belongs to all who cry out to God for You desire
always to save us.
John 5:17-30
My Beloved, in these verses You emphasize You make
abundantly clear Your relationship with God – He is Your Father He and You are
One everything that is His is Yours. The Jews thought it blasphemy but if they
had truly desired to understand they would know that You could not do what You did were it not
through the power of God and they would have believed. But they were more
interested in protecting their own selfish interests; blindly holding on to
empty rituals at the expense of compassion and mercy this is why their hearts
and minds were closed and they could not see that God had indeed come
to walk in the Flesh among His people.
The world does not seem have to changed much Beloved. People
do not want to accept the Truth of God’s Word who was made Flesh and came among
us to show us the power of God, the Wisdom of God and the Love of God – just as
the enemies of truth crucified Truth on the Cross so too does the world
continue to choose to be blind to Truth so it can pander to the flesh. We have
become insensate, gross, hard, and ugly as we deliberately choose to lower our
dignity as children of God and wallow with the swine, mingle with swineherd and
feed on the food of swine.
Yet my Beloved, Truth will prevail for Truth has triumphed
despite the best efforts of Satan. The victory is won – a painful victory that
required that God become Man, experiencing all that we are subject too, in
order to understand and judge us not as we deserve but according to the merits
of the One who died in order that we may live.
