DAILY HOLY MASS READINGS

Isaiah 1:10-17, Psalm 50:8-9, 16-17, 21 & 23, Matthew 10:34---11:1

Psalm 50:8-9, 16-17, 21 & 23

 Verse 23
"Those who give with thanks offerings honor me,
but the one who walks blamelessly,
I will show him the salvation of God.”

In the above verse my Beloved, You reveal what is pleasing to You and who will find favor in Your sight.  You have no use for our sacrifices and our offerings if our hears are far away from You.  All we have, You have given us.  We receive all as God's free gift to us.

Nothing is more displeasing and abhorrent to You as hypocrites whose words belie their actions.  They can quote Scripture and verse but their hearts are full of deceit, lies and wickedness.  To such as these You promise to chastise and rebuke but the meek and humble of heart You will keep close to Your heart.

Matthew 10:34---11:1

My Beloved, You did not mince words when You revealed to the twelve exactly what they could expect as Your disciples.  This is true for anyone who desires to follow You more closely. The road is narrow and rough.  We must be prepared to be mistrusted, to give up a lfie of self-indulgence and ease, to be prepared to make sacrifice, to be prepared for rejection and humiliation and perhaps even hatred.  We must give ourselves and our lives in complete and total surrender to You, no half measures for You want no part of a divided heart. While the difficulties and sacrifices are great, the reward are far greater; in this life peace and joy and in the life to come perfect union with You.
