Genesis 14:18-20

Melchizedek, King of Salem prefigures You my Beloved, the King of Peace.  He brings with him bread and wine and a blessing for Abraham, the father of all nations.  you bring with You Your Body and Blood and rich blessings and graces.  You make us one with You and with each other who received You.  You have delivered us from the snares of the enemy and we in turn give You our whole lives.

1 Corinthians 11:23-26

The tradition that St. Paul is referring to is Apostolic Tradition, the kind that is unchanging and wills tand until You come again.  The Apostolic Tradition of the Eucharist was given by Yourself my Beloved to Your Apostles and they in turn handed it down.  What You taught about giving us Your flesh to eat and blood to drink in order that we may possess everlasting life caame into effect on Maundy Thursday.  In an ubnbloody Sacrifice You offered Yourself as our food and drink, anticipating what would happen on that Blood Good Friday a day later.

You gave thanks to the Father for this was His plan that You were about to fulfill in providing us spiritual nourishment, the new manna, until You come again.

This is the New Covenant of Love conceived by the God of Love.  In this way You make present to us Your sacrifice on cavalry once more,  You invite all who believe from generation to generation to eat Your Body and drink Your Blood because Your Flesh is real food and Your Blood is real drink.  In eating and drinking we are incorporated into Your Body and we are made one with You and with each other.

Psalm 110:1-4

My Beloved, it is the Father who declares You to be a priest forever in the order of that mysterious figure who appeared in Genesis bringing bread and wine with him.  The Father confers on You the dignity of Priest, Prophet and King.  "Conceived like Dew from the Womb of the Dawn" by the power of the Holy Spirit and the chaste, virginal flesh of Mary, fairest daughter of the Father.  You my Beloved who reposed eternally in the Father's bosom now reposed for a while in her womb.

God has given You a seat at His right hand and has handed to You rule, dominion and Kingship over everything in heaven and on earth. You have crushed the devourer, the enemy and You have delivered Your people having conquered sin, death and the devil. We give You praise, homage, thanksgiving, honor, adoration, worship and above all our love.

Luke 9:11-17

No one who comes to You, who seeks You, who follows You, who finds You, will be denied healing and a welcome.  You hold back no good thing but give all for Your joy lies in sharing with us all that the Father has given You.

It is evening, the sun will set, the twelve want to send the crowd away.  They are pratical men and suggest that the crowds be sent on their way before dark to the nearby villages and farms to find lodging and food.

You on the other hand only welcome and give and You ask Your disciples to do the same.  They have been with You long enough and ought to have known by now that You  could feed the crowd Yourself.  You invite us to do what we can with what we have and You will supply all we need.  We must make known to You how hopelessly inadequate our resources are but we must also put our complete trust in You by using what we have and stepping out in faith certain that You will provide.

You asked the disciples to seat the crowd - there were 5000 men not counting the women and children, then You took what was available 5 loaves and 2 fish.  Raising Your eyes to Your Father prayed a blessing, broke the bread as You would soon permit Your Body to b e broken and gave it to the disciples who in turn distributed it to the crowd.

Everyone ate till they were satisfied and there were 12 baskets of leftovers.  Your Church which is built on the foundation of the 12 Apostles will always be given the means to feed Your people until they are satisfied.
