DAILY HOLY MASS READINGS

Genesis 37:3-4, 12-13a, 17b-28a, Psalm 105:16-21, Matthew 21:33-43, 45-46

Genesis 37:3-4, 12-13a, 17b-28a

My Beloved, as a child when Your Mama Mary read the Scriptures  to You did certain passages fill You with a sense of dread since You could see Your life and death foreshadowed in them? Here the account of the father's love for Joseph, the jealousy of his brothers, their hatred and their plotting to kill him, the stripping of his robe and selling him to foreigners all have a familiar ring when we read them today.  You suffered all this and more. You came to Your own and Your own rejected You but to those who believe You have given the power to become children of God.

Psalm 105:16-21

16 Then he sent a famine and ruined the crop that sustained the land; 17 he sent a man ahead of them, Joseph, who was sold as a slave;
18 his feet in shackles, his neck in irons 19 till what he foretold came to pass, and the Lord’s word proved him true.
20 The king sent for him, set him free, the ruler of the peoples released him. 21 He put him in charge of his household and made him ruler of all his possessions.

The Lord God who is Your Father and ours has given You a Name above every name. At Your Name every knee shall bow and every tongue will confess to the glory of God that You are indeed the Lord and Savior of the universe.

Matthew 21:33-43, 45-46

We see in this parable my Beloved how well You knew the hearts of Your enemies who wanted to safeguard their worldly position and interests at the expense of Truth. Because of their rejection we have heard the Good News and are saved.  Thank You Lord for the Church - You are its Cornerstone and no evil will prevail against it. We believe are are saved. Thank You.
