Hebrews 12:18-19, 21-24
My Beloved, the Good News is nothing short of absolutely and mind bogglingly incredible. No human mind can ever wrap itself around this marvel that God has done for us, His creatures. We say with the psalmist, Psalm 144:3 "O LORD, what is man that you care for him, the son of man that you think of him?" We most certainly did not deserve such a totally unfathomable demonstration of love. No mortal mind could have conceived of God the Father sending His only Son to be clothed in human flesh in order to completely identify with His creatures and lead Your wayward children back to the Father's bosom. The laying down of Your life in order to take it up again was the only pleasing sacrifice acceptable to the Father. You were asked to pay the price for our redemption.
The Living God became accessible to man, we heard Him, we touched Him and now we even taste Him in the Holy Eucharist and receive His Life of grace, beauty, truth, goodness and love.
You dwell in Your fullness in the one, holy Catholic, and Apostolic Church founded on Peter the Rock and the gates of hell shall never prevail against her. We are the assembly of the First Born, the most Beloved of the Father, the Holy Spirit and of all who believe and are saved. We are bathed in the Blood of the Lamb and this Blood which covers us cries out to God to be merciful to us for we are now the ransomed and redeemed people of God.
Psalm 48:2-3, 9-11
Abba Father, how can we thank You and the Holy Spirit enough for giving us such a Savior as Your Son, the Beloved, the First Born. He has taken a sinful people and He has made them a nation that has been purchased by His Blood. He is the Lamb of Sacrifice offered to You and making perfect atonement for the disobedience that cast us out of paradise to wander the face of the earth.
He called us out of darkness into His own marvellous light and as King in the City of God that is built on His Holy Mountain which is the Church that He established with Himself as its cornerstone.
All that was but a faint echo in the Old Testament has been fulfilled at His coming. He has revealed the Face of God to us and the everlasting love of the Father. He lives and reigns in His Temple, the Church and in the Temple of our bodies and we praise His Name as long as we have breath. PRAISE THE LORD!!!!
Mark 6:7-13
My Beloved, in these few verses we see the wisdom of the instructions You gave to those whom You called to labour in Your Vineyard. The first thing to keep in mind is that we are called. It is not something we choose to do because we have no other options or because it is the thing to do. Once called we must be prepared to go where You send us.
If the Church had taken these instructions seriously and had followed them to the letter, we would probably have seen less of the scandals that have caused such deep wounds in Your Body and such terrible shame to all her members. Going by twos or more is important because we need companionship and friendship to strengthen and sustain us when we grow weary, get discouraged, are tempted or when we feel frustrated and wish to give up.
We have to trust You implicitly and completely to take care of all our needs both spiritual and temporal. We are called to be content and accept graciously all that is offered without being fussy and without complaint. We do not impose ourselves on anyone. If people are adamant about closing their ears to the Good news then we must respect their freedom and leave. In the end each must make a personal choice whether they are for You or against You.
Conversion begins with repentance. Repentance is accompanied by the awareness that we need to be freed from the bondage of sin and evil. We need to be healed and made whole again. It does not end there - we need the anointing of Your Holy Spirit who will help us to live a holy life.
