1 John 4:11-18
My Beloved, every Catholic/Christian who has grasped, in as much as the human mind can grasp, the quality of divine love that wished to demonstrate for all time the truth about the nature of love, then he would know first of all how the Father loves His children and above all how much the Father loves You. By offering Yourself as an atoning sacrifice for the sins of all men in perfect love and filial obedience to Your Father's will, God has given You the Name that is above all names. This is why all men and women of all times and in all places must fall on their knees and confess to the glory of the Father that You are Lord. This is how God has raised You.
Having understood how the Father has loved His unworthy children we know the true measure, nature and quality of love and we are called to imitate divine love so that more and more each day, we ourselves begin to have this kind of transcendent love for God. We are called to have love for neighbour as well, agape love, the kind that is willing to pour itself out as an oblation, completely forgetful of self.
GOD IS LOVE. This three word sentence says it all and when we love as God does, we become like Him even if only fractionally. There is no fear in love, no cowardice, no shyness, no guile, no desire for self glory, no hauteur or pride or conceit. One is bold, serene, confident, humble, forgetful of self and always available. One strives to imitate the God of Love in all things because we love God and desire to love Him passionately with all the fervor that we are capable of even though our capacity to love is small.
Thank You Love for all that Your love has revealed to me.
Psalm 72:1-2, 10, 12-13
Verse 12-13
12 He delivers the needy who call on him,
the afflicted with no one to help them.
13 His mercy is upon the weak and the poor,
he saves the life of the poor.
Such is our God, my Beloved. I thank You for the great love that the Father has revealed to us in You. Thank You for teaching us what true love is. Thank You for revealing to us the Face of Love and its nature. Thank You for coming to our aid and saving us, rescuing us and restoring all that was lost to us when we disobeyed the Law of Love which is obedience, solely because God desires the best for His people. God knows better than we ever can why an obedient people are a people who are faith filled and joy filled, who always rest calmly in the will of God.
Mark 6:45-52
My Beloved, You placed Your disciples in the sanctuary of the boat. The crowds who ran after You for the sole reason of getting were sent away after they were satisfied. You Yourself went away to be alone with Your Father and remain One in His love. To be renewed and strengthened in the knowledge that You and the Father are One. You needed to rest on the Father as the beloved disciple leans and rests in You.
It is evening, the boat (which represents Your Church), is out on the sea at the mercy of the wind and waves. Your eye is always on Your Church, You watch her struggling and straining against the evil that threatens to drown out her lone voice as she stands firm on the unchangeable, unchanging Truth. You come to her when it seems that all is lost and her children cry out to You in sorrow and anguish not to abandon us. You always answer and Your loving voice will steady and calm us when we hear You say, 'Courage!' It's Me, don't be afraid.'
Perfect love casts out fear and so when we hear Your voice all our fears are put to rest. All is restored when You are with us and we are constantly amazed and astonished at how powerfully Your Love, strength and power are at work in Your Church. We continue unendingly to grasp more deeply how much God loves us that He becomes mere Bread in order that He may feed us. The nourishment that is imperative if we are to become like Him. In the Garden of Eden, Eve was tempted by the devil to eat of the forbidden fruit that would make her like God. Here God invites us to eat His Body and drink His Blood because He desires that we become like Him. Alleluia Amen!!!!
