Acts 3:11-26, Psalm 8:2, 5-9, Luke 24:35-48

DAILY HOLY MASS READINGS:  Acts 3:11-26, Psalm 8:2, 5-9, Luke 24:35-48

Acts 3:11-26

My Beloved, every reference to You in the Old Testament is like a shining light that gets ever brighter once we can see that all the prophecies point to You.  In the New Testament the light becomes dazzlingly bright as every one of them finds it fulfilment in You.  You alone are holy, mighty, powerful - at Your Name demons tremble, nature stands in awe before You- only we humans are a sinful and perverse people.  We have been created by God in His image and likeness and only we of all God's creatures are able to recognize You and fall on our faces and worship You.

You have made us co-heirs with Yourself and You have reserved for us a place in Your Kingdom.  You give us a share of Your inheritance and You have poured Your Own Holy Spirit upon us so that we too may not  only do all that You did while You walked the earth, but even greater things since You are seated at the right hand of the Father and You intercede for us night and day.

Thank You!!!!!!!!!!!

Psalm 8:2, 5-9

Verses 5-7
what is the man that you be mindful of him,
the son of man, that you should care for him?
Yet you made him a little lower than the angels;
you have crowned him with glory and honor.
You made him rule over the works of your hands;
you have put all things under his feet –

Luke 24:35-48

35 Then the two told what had happened on the road and how Jesus made himself known when he broke bread with them.
We must witness to what God has done for us in Christ Jesus whether it is convenient or not to ourselves.  Jesus is always  present at the celebration of the Holy Eucharist and most especially at the Breaking of Bread which reminds us of His Broken Body on the Cross.

36 As they went on talking about this, Jesus himself stood in their midst. (And he said to them, “Peace to you.”)
When we gather to speak of the Lord, the Lord is truly present among us and we will experience the peace that passes human understanding for His peace is supernatural peace and is ours no matter what situation we may be in our life.

39 Look at my hands and feet and see that it is I myself. Touch me and see for yourselves that a ghost has no flesh and bones as I have.” 40 (As he said this, he showed his hands and feet.)
The scars left by the five wounds will be the marks by which we will recognize the True Christ.  Are we prepared to bear these scars on and in our own bodies when we witness to Him?  Only in suffering for His sake and carrying the Cross daily will we be able to attract others to Him for there is power in the Cross.  It is God's mysterious way to use suffering as the means of our purification and to make us like Him in every way.

37 In their panic and fright they thought they were seeing a ghost, 38 but he said to them, “Why are you upset and why do such ideas cross your mind?
41 In their joy they didn’t dare believe and were still astonished. So he said to them, “Have you anything to eat?” 42 and they gave him a piece of broiled fish. 43 He took it and ate it before them.
  Jesus is human and divine and so He will always sympathise and understand our human condition and weaknesses and give us all we need to overcome them.

  44 Then Jesus said to them, “Remember the words I spoke to you when I was still with you: Everything written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms had to be fulfilled.” 45 Then he opened their minds to understand the Scriptures.
And he went on,
 The more we immerse ourselves in Scripture the more will our understanding and wisdom grow.

46 “You see what was written: the Messiah had to suffer and on the third day rise from the dead. 47 Then repentance and forgiveness in his name would be proclaimed to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem.
God's way is not the way of the rich and the powerful of the world.  God's way is suffering, humility, obedience, surrender, an awareness always that we are sinners in need of forgiveness and having a contrite heart and repentant spirit always in order that God may use us for His glory.

48 Now you shall be witnesses to this. 49 And this is why I will send you what my Father promised. So remain in the city until you are invested with power from above.”
And then we have the great promise of the Holy Spirit without Whom we would not be able to do one single, solitary, worthwhile thing.

50 Jesus led them almost as far as Bethany; then he lifted up his hands and blessed them. 51 And as he blessed them, he withdrew (and was taken to heaven. They worshiped him). 52 They returned to Jerusalem full of joy and 53 were continually in the Temple praising God.
 With the Beloved there is always blessing and joy.  AMEN
