DAILY MEDITATION: Psalm 84:2-3, 6, 8, 12-13
Psalm 84:2-3, 6, 8, 12-13
2 How lovely are your rooms,
O Lord of hosts!
3 My soul yearns, pines,
for the courts of the Lord.
My heart and my flesh
cry out for the living God.
6 Happy the pilgrims whom you strengthen,
to make the ascent to you.
8 They go from strength to strength
till they appear before God in Zion.
12 For the Lord God is a sun and a shield;
he bestows favor and glory.
The Lord withholds no good thing
from those who walk in uprightness.
13 O Lord of hosts,
blessed are those who trust in you.
My Beloved, within my being, in my soul, I hold infinity. In my walk with You, we have passed from the courtyard to the outer rooms and You are leading me each day ever closer to the inner chamber. I long to have a closer union with You. Beloved, my spirit desires it but my flesh is weak. Help me to walk through the desert, the valley and the steep climb up to Mount Zion until I ascend to its summit. There I shall find You and be one with You eternally. Increase my faith, hope and my trust in You my Lord.
DAILY MASS READINGS: Revelations 9-14, John 1:45-51,
Psalm 145:10-13, 17-18
Revelations 9-11
9 Then one of the seven angels came to me, one of those with the seven bowls full of the seven last plagues. And he said, “Come, I am going to show you the bride, the wife of the Lamb.” 10 He took me up in a spiritual vision to a very high mountain and he showed me the holy city Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God. It shines with the glory of God, 11 like a precious jewel with the color of crystal-clear jasper.
The Church is Your Bride, the New Jerusalem is the Kingdom that You have established. It is based on the firm foundation of Your Apostles and in it, there is room for all.
John 1:45-51
Beloved, how often we make false assumptions. We have absolutely no knowledge of the facts and yet we are pretty glib with our conclusions based on total ignorance. When we are invited to seek the truth let us be open to the call. Nathaniel was quick to move from his initial skepticism to a more profound knowledge and intimacy with You. On Your part Beloved, You did not hesitate to praise the good You saw in him just as You do with us as well. Nathaniel grew from ignorance, skepticism, easy enthusiasm to a more profound understanding of You. Help me to make the same journey my Lord.
