Daily Meditation: John 6:27
John 6:27
27 Work then, not for perishable food, but for the lasting food which gives eternal life. The Son of Man will give it to you, for he is the one the Father has marked.”
Beloved, thank You for giving us as food Your precious Body and Blood - food that does not perish but gives eternal life. You are the Son of God marked through the will of the Father, with the wounds caused by our sins.
Beloved, when You see the scars on Your hands stretch them out to hold me, when You see the scars on Your feet, draw close to me, when You see the scar in Your side hold me to Your breast and remember that You died for me and have pity on me Lord and save me.
Daily mass Readings: Judges 6:11-24, Matthew 19:23-30, Psalm 85: 11-14
Judges 6:11-24
My Beloved, You take the least and the weakest and through them You display Your awesome power so all will know that it is You who is at work. We all wonder at one time or another whether the task is too great for one person, but if the work is Yours then You will make all things possible. When Your choice rests with us then we need not be afraid for You will walk with us and accomplish all You wish if we allow ourselves to be be open to You. Teach me how to surrender, to yield, to permit You to do all You wish to do in and through me, little though it may be.
Matthew 19:23-30
My Beloved, the Kingdom of God operates on standards that are quite different from the world. The most comforting lines in today's Gospel is verse 26 which states that for God, nothing is impossible. Sometimes, when I feel at my weakest and most wretched, help me to remember that it is in my weakness that I am strong in Your strength. We need not worry about our reward Beloved, if we have worked faithfully in Your vineyard for You are a generous God.
Psalm 85: 11-14
11 Love and faithfulness have met;
righteousness and peace have embraced.
12 Faithfulness will reach up from the earth
while justice bends down from heaven.
13 The Lord will give what is good,
and our land will yield its fruit.
14 Justice will go before him,
and peace will follow along his path.
