John 12:43, 2 Corinthians 9:6-10, John 12:24-26, Psalm 112:1-2, 5-9

Daily Meditation:  John 12:43

John 12:43

43 They preferred to be approved by people rather than by God.

How true is this of me personally my Lord?  Do I prefer the praise and acceptance of men rather than seeking to please You always?  How weak or strong am I to resist the pressure of the age we live in?  When You look at me my Beloved, what do You see?  Have I placed all my faith, hope, love and trust in You alone? How confident am I that if I were asked to stand up for You that I would, even if it meant facing persecution, or even death, like so many of my fellow Christians?

Beloved I know all the right answers.  Truth is my foundation but would I deny You like Peter did, or betray You like Judas?  Would I run away like the apostles on that Holy Night because I was paralyzed with fear?  Beloved, I pray with all the fervor of my soul that when I am asked to stand firm for what I believe in, I will not disappoint You.

Daily Mass Readings:  2 Corinthians 9:6-10, John 12:24-26,
                                       Psalm 112:1-2, 5-9

2 Corinthians 9:6-10

Beloved, You are a bountiful and generous Giver and we are called to imitate You in our giving.  Whatever we give must given with great love.  It is not the quantity, but with the readiness of a large and loving heart we are called to give what we can.  The Father held nothing back in obtaining for us our redemption, You held nothing back but gave Your life and Your Mother as well for good measure.  The Holy Spirit pours the life of the Trinity into us.  Help me to imitate You O holy God.

John 12:24-26

Beloved, You gave Yourself up to death and You have reaped a plentiful harvest for God's Kingdom.  Today we see so many whose lives destroyed because they have fallen in love with the world and its transient pleasures.  I am Your servant, I want to follow You so where You are You may find me.  May I live and die serving You.
