Acts 17:27-28, Judges 11:29-39, Matthew 22:1-14, Psalm 40:5, 7-10

Daily Meditation:  Acts 17:27-28

Acts 17:27-28

27 He wanted them to seek him by themselves, even if it were only by groping for him, succeed in finding him.
Yet he is not far from any one of us. 28 For in him we live and move and have our being, as some of your poets have said: for we too are his offspring.
Beloved You have said, "If you seek Me, You will find Me, if You seek Me with all your heart."  I have longed for You ever since You have revealed Your great love, mercy and compassion to me.  I have groped in the night of my suffering and I have found You.  My fingers cling to Yours and You lovingly wrap Your arms around me.  Truly You are never far from those who want to belong wholly to You.  I live, move and have my being in You.  I am a daughter of God.  I belong to the family of the Living God.

Daily Mass Readings:  Judges 11:29-39, Matthew 22:1-14,
                                       Psalm 40:5, 7-10
Judges 11:29-39

Have I made any foolish vows like Jephthah, Beloved?  Keep me from making unworthy promises to You.  Help me to remember that You are God and all You do for me is because I am completely dependent on Your mercy.  Should You withdraw from me I would die.  Knowing how totally I need You to live, there is nothing that I can give You in return for all You have done for me.  All I possess is Yours.  There is nothing I can give You Beloved for all I am and have is already Yours.

Matthew 22:1-14

Beloved, because You are the Bridegroom of Your   Church and I am a member of Your Church, I am espoused to You.  I am Your Bride and You Beloved, are my Bridegroom.  You have robed me in bridal garments through the Sacrament of Baptism.  You array me in garments whiter than snow and as frequently as I receive the other Sacraments, You continue to lavish new graces on me.  Thank You.

Truly my Lord, many are called but few are chosen.  Let this verse cause me to pray always that many may heed Your call and respond to Your invitation.

Psalm 40:8-10

Then I said, “Here I come! as the scroll says of me. To do your will is my delight, O God, for your law is within my heart.”
10 In the great assembly I have proclaimed your saving help. My lips, O Lord, I did not seal – you know that very well.
