Daily Meditation: Isaiah 64:3, Isaiah 65:1-2, Isaiah 66:2,
Isaiah 64:3
3 No one has ever heard or perceived, no eye has ever seen a God besides you who works for those who trust in him.
Isaiah 65:1-2
1 I let myself be found by those who did not ask for me; I have been met by those who did not seek me.
I said, “Here I am, here I am,” to a nation who did not call on my name. 2 I have stretched out my hands all day to a rebellious people who chose the evil way, following their own wishes.
It is You who are always in search of the sinner. I know this from my own experience. You did not abandon me to my sins and the hell I deserved, but You spoke to me through all the circumstances in my life, until I finally heard Your voice and surrendered joyfully to You. I have reached a stage in my journey where I am able to cease all my struggling and lay quietly and at peace within Your embrace.
Isaiah 66:2,
2 My hands have made all this and it is all mine, but what I am looking for is the one who is meek and contrite of heart, who trembles at my word.
Finally, my Beloved, You tell me in no uncertain terms what You are looking for in a disciple and servant. Grant me true humility, true sorrow for sin, a firm purpose of amendment and a desire backed by my will never to offend You again with Your help. May I tremble at the beauty, power and perfect love of Your Word - the Eternal Word that issued forth from God and became incarnate for love of me.
