Daily Meditation:  Ephesians 2:17-22

Ephesians 2:17-22
17 He came to proclaim peace; peace to you who were far off, peace to the Jews who were near. 18 Through him we—the two peoples—approach the Father in one Spirit.
19 Now you are no longer strangers or guests, but fellow citizens of the holy people: you are of the household of God. You are the house 20 whose foundations are the apostles and prophets, and whose cornerstone is Christ Jesus. 21 In him the whole structure is joined together and rises to be a holy temple in the Lord. 22 In him you too are being built to become the spiritual sanctuary of God.

My Beloved, all the verses from 11-22 speak of peace.  Much is said about this word and people everywhere long for peace.  Peoples and nations under domination by rogue governments or minority citizens of nations being persecuted for their faith, people oppressed for years by political leaders, employers,  fanatical religious groups etc., all cry out for peace.  Their hearts long for it, they dream of it.  Today, as we look around, we find that peace is absent even among free nations - all are trapped and cornered by fear or greed.  How refreshing it is to read these verses where Paul speaks with clarity on the true nature of peace and how peace has come into the world.

You are the Prince of  Prince, there is no other - all division between men has ended through the rending asunder of Your Flesh and all have entered into You, believers and non-believers and we are made one in You as You fold us into Yourself and seal us in Your Blood.  How beautifully verse 14 puts it, You are our peace, You made the two one, You destroyed in Your own flesh all division, the hatred that separated us and You reconciled all mankind to God through the Cross making us one body in You.  Every other faith that calls itself, 'Peace' is a lie for their deeds belie their words.  Their works bring death, destruction, fear, anger, hatred and revenge.  All these are the works of Satan.

There will come a time my Beloved, when all will approach the Father through You for we all share the same Spirit.  In You we are one, You are our Cornerstone and together with You and the Holy Spirit we are being being built to become the spiritual sanctuary of God.

I promise today my Life, that I shall no longer allow fear or dismay creep into my life and darken my thoughts, even though it may seem that a dark star is in the ascent.  You are the first, last and triumphant, Eternal Word of the Living God.

Daily Mass Readings:  Acts 18:9-18, John 16:20-23, Psalm 47:2-7

Acts 18:9-18

My Lord, You spoke directly to Paul through Your Holy Spirit in visions and dreams.  (see verse 9) Today we do not need such direct intervention, for we have Your Word in Scripture, the Church, the Magisterium, so if we are familiar with Your Word and we are obedient to the Church and if in humility we surrender and make ourselves always available and attentive to the inner prompting of a well-formed conscience, we will always be able to discern what it is that You ask of us, when we come to You in prayer.

John 16:20-23

My Beloved, evil thought it had the last word when an easily incited rabble got together and were collectively radicalized by those who saw their position of power being threatened and on the verge of collapse,  as the people witnessed the work of God made manifest in the wonders, signs and miracles You performed wherever You went.  They were witnesses to You arrest, trial, they were there when judgment was pronounced and they walked every step of the way mocking, jeering, sneering, smirking and congratulating themselves as they accompanied You to Calvary.  They witnessed Your crucifixion as You slowly and agonizingly bled and asphyxiated to death.  They thought that they had put an end to You and those who loved You wept and mourned and were distraught.  The wonderful life they knew in Your company for three years were seemingly over and they were inconsolable and terribly depressed and perhaps scandalized even that despite all You said about Yourself, You met with an unseemly, ignominious and untimely end.

It is strange how they had completely forgotten that You had predicted all these events before they happened. You had spoken clearly about Your death and resurrection but it was all wiped clean away from their memory. They wallowed in sadness, sorrow and grief.  But only for a while.  Soon You returned to turn their sorrow to joy.  Yes, exactly as a woman in childbirth who believes the pain will never end and will never be removed from her memory and forgets it all the moment cradles her baby in her arms.  It is positively miraculous.

Thank You Beloved, for the assurance that no one will be able to take our joy from us.  When our faith is unshakeable Beloved,  we can step up to the throne of the Father backed by the assurance You give us and ask Him for ANYTHING  in Your Name and HE WILL GIVE IT TO US!!! WOW!!.

What do I want my Beloved?

"Dearest Daddy God, my Abba, my Father, in Jesus' Name I ask You to grant me A FULL MEASURE OF YOUR HOLY SPIRIT.  I make this prayer through Christ my Lord who lives and reigns with You now and forever.  AMEN!!!

Psalm 47: 3-7
For the Lord, the Most High, is to be feared;
he is a great king all over the earth.
He brings peoples under our dominion
and puts nations under our feet.
He chose our inheritance for us –
the pride of Jacob whom he loves!
God ascends amid joyful shouts,
the Lord amid trumpet blasts.
Sing praises to God, sing praises!
Sing praises to our King, sing praises!

How foolish are we to fear when we have such an awesome God.
