Isaiah 4:4-6,
when Yahweh washes away the filth of the women of Zion and purges Jerusalem of the bloodstains in its midst with the blast of searing judgment, the blast of fire.
Then will Yahweh create over the whole site of Mount Zion and over its assemblies a cloud of smoke by day and a glow of fire by night.   For the Glory of the Lord will be a canopy and a pavilion for all, a shade from the scorching heat by day, a refuge from the storm and rain.
My Beloved, it is the women who have the power to either lead men astray or to help them call up all that is best and noble in them.  You promise to wash away the filth of the women and make them clean once more like the Magdalen or the harlot wife of Hosea - then strong in You, we can walk the path of light and life.  You will cleanse us of the blood stains that has disfigured us.  Your judgment will bring us to confession and repentance and once again,  Your Church and world will be filled with Your holy and glorious Presence.  You will remain with us as our light and guide.  You will shelter us day and night so no evil can approach to harm us.

Joel 2:12-18

Beloved today, Ash Wednesday, marks the beginning of Lent.  Be with all people of goodwill as we walk with You the Way of  Calvary.  Let us purge our hearts of all evil and allow Your grace to work in us.  May this time of refreshment with You renew Your Church and each of its member.  Jesus meek and humble of heart grant me the gift of true humility during this Season of Lent.
