TWENTY-SEVENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME - 2021

DAILY HOLY MASS READINGS

As long as we love one another
God will live in us
and his love will be complete in us. JN 4:12

GENESIS 2:18-24 ©

My Soul's Beloved,

Thank You for instituting the Sacrament of Marriage - it is a little foretaste of the marriage between the Lamb of God and His Bride, the Church. It pleases God to let us, the creatures He loves best for He made us in His image and likeness, to experience even while we are on earth what we will experience in fullness in His Kingdom.

We were created by God for You, Beloved, and nothing on earth will ever satisfy us completely, but when we cooperate with God and we strive with sincerity always to discern His will and do it, then the Holy Spirit gives us a foretaste of the joy that will be ours eternally.

Marriage is good and when we enter into this sacred bond we must remain committed to it for life. It is not easy and without the graces of the Sacrament, it is almost impossible and some give up.  A man and a woman complement each other perfectly, they fit together for this is how God created us, husband and wife are one flesh and this is the same way we are made one with our Bridegroom in the Holy Eucharist.

Thank You, Father, for the gift of my spouse and a foretaste even in this life of the eternal spiritual nuptials between the Lamb and His Bride which is the Church He instituted.

‘This at last is bone from my bones,
and flesh from my flesh!
This is to be called woman,
for this was taken from man.’
This is why a man leaves his father and mother and joins himself to his wife, and they become one body.

HEBREWS 2:9-11 ©

My Soul's Beloved,

The writer of this letter to the Hebrews explains how God, in stooping lower than the angels to become like us raised us up to become children of God.
Redeeming us by Your Blood, we are now raised higher than the angels because we are sons and daughters of the Living God. No wonder Lucifer and his cohorts rebelled against God. God chose to become Man and the angels who are great, powerful, wise, and far superior to us were to serve us and be our protectors and guardians.

If we fully comprehended what God has done for us we would never cease to praise, adore, and worship Him for as long as we had breath in our bodies. We are children of Your Father because You deign to call us Your sisters and brothers.

MEMORIAL OF THE HOLY GUARDIAN ANGELS - 2021

DAILY HOLY MASS READINGS

Give thanks to the Lord, all his hosts,
his servants who do his will. PS 102:21

EXODUS 23:20-23 ©

My Soul's Beloved,

I am truly grateful for the gift of my guardian angel. Your Word O Lord, is clear, to each of us is appointed an angel to be with us as we make our pilgrim way from this life to the next. You command the angel who is given charge of us to guard us and bring us to the place that is prepared for us from eternity.

We on our part are commanded to be reverent and to list to all that he tells us as he helps us navigate this world of sin and evil in safety. We are to submit to him and not thwart him because he speaks only that which You desire him to say to us. You attach a promise if we do, 'If you listen carefully to his voice and do all that I say, I shall be enemy to your enemies, foe to your foes. My angel will go before you.’

Grant me this grace, Holy Spirit of God, to be more attentive to this great help that God has given me from the moment of my conception to remain with me until I breathe my last on earth. If I do, I will find the journey less fraught with peril. Thank You, Lord.

PSALM 91:1-6,10-11 ©

My Soul's Beloved,

Only in heaven will we know from how many perils our guardian angels saved us. He does not grow weary, he does not sleep but keeps faithful watch over those whom God has commanded to keep watch over.
My guardian angel cannot fail me it is I who can deliberately ignore him and take paths that lead to my destruction.

I know I have taken him for granted and not used him to the fullest extent of his ability to do so. He is appointed by God solely for me and life will be much easier for me when I lean on him, have confidence in him, and trust him to help me when I cannot help myself.

Angel of God, and my guardian, thank you for watching over me faithfully and keeping me safe. Forgive me for the many times I forget you are beside me, for failing to acknowledge your presence, and for taking all your help for granted. Thank you for the many times you kept my feet from stumbling.

From this day forth, each time I am overwhelmed by life may I turn to you in faith and ask for your help and be confident that you will provide all the assistance I need. You will keep me safe from the prowler's snare, and the hunter's arrows. Thank you for all the help you have given me thus far and for your continued vigilance in caring and watching over me.

Upon you no evil shall fall,
no plague approach where you dwell.
For you has he commanded his angels,
to keep you in all your ways.

MATTHEW 18:1-5,10 ©

My Soul's Beloved,

As always we see how Your ways are not the ways of the world. We take children for granted. We use them, abuse them, ignore them, take our frustrations out on them, we treat them unfairly, we ignore their feelings, their fears, we refuse to listen to them. We refuse to spend time with them and to train and direct their steps in the way of life. We either overindulge them and spoil them or we starve them for real love without which they cannot thrive.

Today, the world uses and abuses children in the most horrific ways one can imagine. They are treated as commodities and not as God's gift to those who receive them.

The sin of abortion cries out to God for justice as the blood of these innocents floods and crimsons the earth. Today, once again as we read the Gospel that shows us how God views His little ones, it is a stark stern warning to everyone who has committed the sin of abortion or promotes it in any way. Yes, God is merciful and forgives all who repent of this heinous sin.

Those who are childlike will gain entrance to heaven so let us strive to be meek and humble of heart. Let us seek to be counted among the least rather than the greatest and let us welcome every child in Your Name for if we despise and reject them we despise and reject You and will face the Father's wrath for having caused even the least of His little ones to suffer.
