My Soul's Beloved,
The words written in the epistles of St. John bring us to the source of the fountain of life, the Holy Spirit. He has drunk deep of the living water that flows from Your side, Lord, and he reveals deep truths that have the power to console, heal, strengthen, enliven, give hope, and comfort and guide us in the Way of Life by the sure path of Truth in its fullness. Truth O Lord is a Person and this Person, the Son of the Living God, is present fully human and fully divine, in one place and one place only the Church You founded with Peter as its rock and You as its cornerstone - there is no other.
Every other Christian denomination can shriek and rail against the Church and accuse her of all kinds of evil but she remains the City on the Hill full of beauty, goodness, and truth for it is in her, that You, her Lord and her God, her spouse as well as her Savior, and Redeemer abides. When we remain in the Church we remain in You and in God. We keep Your commandments. We accept all her doctrines, do not cherry-pick those that suit our fancy, and discard what does not pander to the desires of the flesh. We keep all of God's commandments. We live a sacramental life for the Sacraments were instituted by You which enables us to live in the grace of God always and every time we err we have the Sacrament of Reconciliation that restores us through the mercy and goodness of God to a life of grace.
False prophets abound they flourish because they teach error that tickles the ears of the weak as it appeals to their baser instincts. But those who choose to enter into and remain in the embrace of Holy Mother Church will be preserved from all error.
Whatever we ask God,
we shall receive,
because we keep his commandments
and live the kind of life that he wants.
Well, now he is here, in the world.
Children,
you have already overcome these false prophets,
because you are from God and you have in you
one who is greater than anyone in this world;
as for them, they are of the world,
and so they speak the language of the world
and the world listens to them.
But we are children of God,
and those who know God listen to us;
those who are not of God refuse to listen to us.
This is how we can tell
the spirit of truth from the spirit of falsehood.
because we keep his commandments
and live the kind of life that he wants.
Well, now he is here, in the world.
