SATURDAY OF WEEK 27 IN ORDINARY TIME - 2024

DAILY HOLY MASS READINGS

Happy are those
who hear the word of God
and keep it. LK 11:28

GALATIANS 3:22-29

My Soul's Beloved,

Faith in You is the greatest gift of all. We thank God our Father for sending You into the world to lay down Your life for us all. Sin abounds through Adam grace abounds through You. Without You, Lord, all of us are doomed to eternal death but faith in You is the source of boundless and eternal life. We are all sinners, Lord, each one of us. We are conceived in sin, born in sin, and die in sin - sin is passed down to us by our first parents. Sin brings death and eternal separation from God. But God would not permit sin to have the final word, instead, He sent His Eternal Word, His irrevocable Word, His only Word into the world and because of You, Lord, all who believe in You will live.

This is my prayer to You, my Lord, this is my plea, this is my cri de cœur to You, O Sacred Heart of Jesus to save me and mine from the snares of the Enemy by the power of our Baptism. We are clothed in grace, Lord by the Holy Spirit whom You sent to be our Helper, our Paraclete, who abides in us and enables us to live a life of holiness through grace. Hear and answer Beloved, I have recourse in no one but You. Thank You.

 All baptised in Christ, you have all clothed yourselves in Christ, and there are no more distinctions between Jew and Greek, slave and free, male and female, but all of you are one in Christ Jesus. Merely by belonging to Christ you are the posterity of Abraham, the heirs he was promised.

PSALM 104(105):2-7

The Lord remembers his covenant forever.

O sing to the Lord, sing his praise;
tell all his wonderful works!
Be proud of his holy name,
let the hearts that seek the Lord rejoice.

Consider the Lord and his strength;
constantly seek his face.
Remember the wonders he has done,
his miracles, the judgements he spoke.

O children of Abraham, his servant,
O sons of the Jacob he chose.
He, the Lord, is our God:
his judgements prevail in all the earth.

The Lord remembers his covenant forever.

LUKE 11:27-28

My Soul's Beloved,

If we have eyes to see, and ears to hear, we too like the greatest saints in the annals of the Catholic Church who perceived and understood, will also know and understand beyond the shadow of a doubt that there is no greater masterpiece in all creation than Mary. There never was nor will there ever be, either in heaven or on earth, a greater creature fashioned lovingly by the Creator, saved by the Son, and filled with omnipotent grace by the Holy Spirit, her Spouse, than Mary. She is the fairest most fragrant flower in all creation. She bore the fruit of the Holy Spirit, Her Son, the Eternal Word of the Creator, Jesus - one who saves. The most beautiful, most splendid, the most renowned, the most powerful intercessor by the will of her Son, the most tender, the most compassionate, the most loving creature that ever was or shall be is Mary, the Mother of God and our Mother. She is wholeheartedly, unreservedly, and passionately involved in the salvation of each of her children as the new Eve, and she will not rest until she has us all safe under her mantle.

So yes, only those with eyes to see, ears to hear, and faith in the mysterious plan of God, can know and understand as much as it is possible for us mortals, in this life, the wonder and the miracle of grace that is Mary.

As Jesus was speaking, a woman in the crowd raised her voice and said, ‘Happy the womb that bore you and the breasts you sucked!’ But he replied, ‘Still happier those who hear the word of God and keep it!’

There never was and never will be a creature so entwined and so one with God in all things as Mary. No one did the will of God as perfectly as Mary even when she did not understand. Her whole life from the moment of her conception until she was carried to the bosom of God was one long aspiration, a loving sigh of 'yes' to God. There is no more powerful creature after God in heaven than Mary, the Mother of God. Through her fiat, the Holy Spirit came upon her and the Son of God became incarnate in her womb. She gave the world its Redeemer, its Savior, its Messiah. The Son of Mary is the Son of God through whom alone we are saved.
