‘You believe, Thomas, because you can see me.
Happy are those who have not seen and yet believe. JN 20:29

ACTS 5:27-33 ©

My Soul's Beloved,

Evil is impotent when faced with Truth and is filled with murderous rage before its e power, glory, and majesty. When we stand on the side of Truth we are invincible for we stand with God and the angels. Truth cannot be suppressed for long in time it will break out of the lies and deceit by which it is constrained and will burst forth for it is irrepressible.

When we stand on the side of Truth as the Apostles we can say with the same confidence that they did in the face of persecution, torture, imprisonment, and death, ‘Obedience to God comes before obedience to men. It is when we make compromises and we blur the lines between Truth and falsehood, that we need to be very afraid. There are no winners when we sleep with the Enemy. With lies comes death, sadness, confusion, and anxiety but with Truth comes joy, peace, and life in abundance.

No matter what hardships the Apostles, disciples, and early Christians suffered they died as joyful witnesses to the Truth and to the Good News of our salvation. When I am tempted to give in to fear of the consequences of being a witness to the Truth may I ask the Helper, the Holy Spirit, to supply the courage and boldness I lack. The Spirit who raised You from the dead will come to our aid as well and provide us with all we need to boldly proclaim the Good News that saves. Beloved, may we never be afraid of those who can only kill the body but can do nothing else, rather may we obey in all things most faithful, God who can destroy both body and soul forever.

PSALM 33 (34):2,9,17-20 ©

I will bless the Lord at all times,
his praise always on my lips;
Taste and see that the Lord is good.
He is happy who seeks refuge in him.

The Lord turns his eyes to the just
and his ears to their appeal.
They call and the Lord hears
and rescues them in all their distress.

The Lord is close to the broken-hearted;
those whose spirit is crushed he will save.
Many are the trials of the just man
but from them all the Lord will rescue him.

This poor man called and the Lord heard him.

My Soul's Beloved,

Grant  O Lord of Lords and King of Kings that we who believe that You who were sent from above by the Father will receive the promise of eternal life. Not only have You given us Your life but You have also given us Your Spirit. He lives in us, moves in us, animates us and we receive the Life of God because God makes His dwelling in us.

You reveal that the Father loves You and all He has, He has entrusted to You, and because we are members of Your Body, Beloved, all that You have received we receive as well. The Father makes us joint heirs with You to the Kingdom of Heaven.

Lord Jesus, hear our prayers and grant our petitions for the salvation of those we love, spouses, children, siblings, parents, relatives, friends, and the whole world so someday every one of us will receive the inheritance that the Father allotted to us when He laid the foundations of the earth. Thank You.
