DAILY HOLY MASS READINGS

The kingdom of God is close at hand:
repent and believe the Good News. MK 1:15

My Soul's Beloved,

No matter how rich, famous, or powerful we are in this life Lord, it will end. Everything in this world will perish the only thing that lives on is our immortal soul. David, before he died, advised his son Solomon who would ascend the throne to fear God and to observe His laws and all would be well with him. The promises God made to David would be fulfilled in the reign of his son and his throne would be securely established. All parents leave a legacy to their children - good or bad remains to be seen. Every parent only wants the best for their children and while they would like to shield them from all the difficulties and troubles of life, it is impossible. Each child has to forge his or her own path, make their own mistakes, as we made ours, and learn from them, grow, and hopefully become wiser, better, stronger because of them.

Loving God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ and our Father, look with pity on us sinners who have been saved by the Blood of the Lamb. Thank You, Father, for Your plan of salvation that gave us so glorious a Redeemer. Grant O Lord that every member of my family be saved so we may at last come to that place of rest in Your Presence and enjoy the beatific vision eternally together with all the angels and saints.

PSALM 1 CHRONICLES 29:10-12 ©

May you be blessed, O Lord,
the God of Israel, our father,
for ever, for ages unending!

Yours, Lord, are greatness and power,
and splendour, triumph, and glory.
All is yours, in heaven and on earth.

Yours, Lord, is the kingdom;
you are supreme above all.
Both honour and riches come from you.

You are the ruler of all,
from your hand come strength and power;
from your hand come greatness and might.

You, Lord, are the ruler of all.

My Soul's Beloved,

To rely completely on divine providence to supply all our needs requires a childlike faith and confidence in You and in the Father's love. So many saints have done so and they have wanted for nothing but we are not blessed with such extraordinary faith. Yet, Lord, in those instances when we have trusted in You, relied on You, and had faith in You, we were never disappointed.

As disciples, You assure us that we need to be armed with nothing but the Word of God, and the Shepherd's Staff which is the Church to guide us in the power of the Holy Spirit to teach, preach, and live the Truth of Your Word.

Our lives, especially when no one sees us, must be a witness to the Truth of the Good News. Love incarnate dwelling in us must be visible and tangible to those around us. We fail miserably daily, Lord, but may we never give up, never lose heart, for You O Lord always supply us with all we need each day. Thank You, Lord, for Your mercies that are new every morning and for Your steadfast love that sustains us from the rising of the sun to its setting.
