DAILY HOLY MASS READINGS

If anyone loves me he will keep my word,
and my Father will love him,
and we shall come to him. JN 14:23

My Soul's Beloved,

In the month of November, we reflect on those who have gone before us, those who lived exemplary lives, pleasing to You. Who kept the Commandments not out of compulsion but love and they grew in wisdom, knowledge, and understanding of the things that are eternal, holy, good, beautiful, pure, and true.

Beloved, God created us to live forever but sin brought sin, death, evil, division, and darkness into the world and into the human heart and spirit. Thanks be to the Father He sent You, His only well-beloved Son into the world to redeem us. Having created us in His image He loved us too well to see the work of His hands destroyed forever. Love created us, Love redeemed us, Love sanctifies us, and Love will lead us home to enjoy eternal life with God forever.

We thank You, Lord, for the lives of all the great saints who by their example show us that it is possible to live lives of heroic virtue and that grace in abundance is available to all who desire it. Thank You, Lord, for all the testing times that purify and strengthen me. Thank You, for being with me always. Thank You for keeping my hand firmly in Yours, thank You for steadying me each time I stumble, and for carrying me when I lack the strength to go on.

In Your great mercy and tender compassion remain with me till the end and take me safely home to heaven when my life here comes to an end.

They who trust in him will understand the truth,
those who are faithful will live with him in love;
for grace and mercy await those he has chosen.

PSALM 33(34):2-3,16-19 ©

I will bless the Lord at all times,
his praise always on my lips;
in the Lord my soul shall make its boast.
The humble shall hear and be glad.

The Lord turns his face against the wicked
to destroy their remembrance from the earth.
The Lord turns his eyes to the just
and his ears to their appeal.

They call and the Lord hears
and rescues them in all their distress.
The Lord is close to the broken-hearted;
those whose spirit is crushed he will save.

I will bless the Lord at all times.

My Soul's Beloved,

May I never forget that I am a servant under order and I am duty bound to obey them. There is a work that is entrusted to me to complete while I am here on earth grant that I may do it faithfully and generously. Forgive me for the past when I have been neglectful of my duties when I have not accomplished them to the best of my ability because I was selfish, self-centered, and often ignorant of the grave consequences of my neglect and lack of zeal and love in accomplished the work that God entrusted to me. I have been wasteful of Your gifts, I have squandered Your grace, I have been unholy, and have walked in ways that could have destroyed my soul eternally.

But You O Lord, are good and kind. You have not called me to account while I was still steeped in sin. Thank You for giving me another chance to turn away from darkness and to walk in Your marvelous light. Grant me the grace and the wisdom to work without complaining doing all that I am required to do cheerfully, zealously, promptly, and obediently looking neither to be praised nor thanked for doing what is my duty. Saying always at the end of each day as You remind us today, “We are merely servants: we have done no more than our duty.”
