TWENTY-SECOND IN ORDINARY TIME - 2023

DAILY HOLY MASS READINGS

May the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ
enlighten the eyes of our mind,
so that we can see what hope his call holds for us. EPH 1:17, 18

My Soul's Beloved,

We live in a world where the lamentation of Jeremiah the prophet is the lamentation of all the faithful who are filled with sadness and anxiety when we see how decadent and evil our culture is. We seem to be spiraling into the very depths of darkness. Those in power are determined to extinguish all traces of the good, the true, and the beautiful. All the demons from hell have been let loose on the earth because we have slowly but surely brought ourselves to this time in our history.

All who could have and should have stood firmly on the firm foundation of Truth have made a little concession here and a little concession there. Compromising with the culture out of fear, lethargy, or perhaps foolishly thinking it would not make too much of a difference we now find ourselves on the very brink of hell and annihilation.

But all is not lost, Beloved, there is a faithful remnant and You will use them mightily to ensure that the gates of hell and the powers of darkness will never prevail against Your Bride, the Church.

Grant us O Lord the same zeal for the Truth that the prophet experience, a fire that will consume us if we do not speak fearlessly and let our voices be heard as we proclaim the Truth boldly. Fill us with Your Holy Spirit and we will be filled with power and with Your help, Lord, we shall triumph.

The word of the Lord has meant for me
insult, derision, all day long.
I used to say, ‘I will not think about him,
I will not speak in his name any more.’
Then there seemed to be a fire burning in my heart,
imprisoned in my bones.
The effort to restrain it wearied me,
I could not bear it.
