DANIEL 7:9-10,13-14 ©
My Soul's Beloved,
My Soul's Beloved,
From all eternity You are. It delights the Father to entrust all things to You and to give You authority, honour, kingship and power over all that is, was and is to come. In You are found the fullness of the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. You O Lord, are the Son of the Living God and the Father He gave You up for us and all who believe in You will not perish but have eternal life.
When You make Your home in us, Lord, the Father and the Holy Spirit also come and dwell with us. Of Your fullness, we have all received. We belong to Your Kingdom O Lord and eternity is ours for as Your sisters and brothers we are co-heirs of heaven with You. Thank You for laying down Your lives in order that we maight live.
PSALM 96(97):1-2,5-6,9 ©
My Soul's Beloved,
You are the King of all creation. Ruler of heaven and earth and of the universe. You are and because You are we are too, we have been created by God to give you glory, worship, adoration and above all our love. We are members of Your Body. We are soldiers in the army of the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords.
Thank You, Father, for loving us into being and for the glorious inheritance that awaits us in the Kingdom of Your Son.

My Soul's Beloved,
Peter, James, and John accompanied You so they could be witnesses to Your glory before they could be witnesses to the scandal of the Cross and Your barbaric passion, crucifixion and death. While it is true that after Peter's initial bravado when he cut off the ear of the servant of the high priest, Peter as well as the others fled when You were arrested. John though, did return and stood steadfast with Your Mother and the holy women at the foot of the Cross.
It is only after Your resurrection, ascension into heaven, and the descent of the Holy Spirit on the Apostles that the significance of what Peter, James and John witnessed became apparent to them. There were not two but three witnesses to Your transfiguration on the mountain. They also saw Moses and Elijah who represented the Law and the Prophets conversing with You who are the fulfilment of both.
As Peter recalls this event in the passage chosen for our reflection on the Feast of the Transfiguration, he speaks of hearing the Sublime Glory, God, Your Father who declares solemnly to all generations in every age until the end of time, "This is my Son, the Beloved; he enjoys my favour."
This, says Peter, is the confirmation of all that was said in prophecies. We believe that You O Lord and Saviour are the Word of God which is a lamp to our feet illumining our path to the eternal Kingdom of God. Your Word O Lord shines through the darkness of this evil world and will lead us to the dawn, the Morning Star that guides us to the eternal day.

My Soul's Beloved,
Every faithful Catholic attending every celebration of the Holy Eucharist is time spent in eternity where we, like Peter, James, and John are witnesses to Your glorious transfiguration. We in turn must transfigured as we become what we consume in Holy Communion - Your Flesh and Your Blood.
The thundering voice of the Father of Sublime Glory must ring in our ears and reverberate in our whole being, ‘This is my Son, the Beloved; he enjoys my favour. Listen to him.’ We like the disciples must fall on our faces reverent, holy fear and we will discover that when You come to us in Holy Communion, You touch us and encourage us to stand up and we hear You say to us, ‘Do not be afraid.’ While You ordered the disciples to tell no one about the vision we are to shout it out from the mountaintops that You O Lord are God and that there is salvation in no one but You.
