SOLEMNITY OF THE MOST SACRED HEART OF JESUS - 2021

DAILY HOLY MASS READINGS

This is the love I mean:
God’s love for us when he sent his Son
to be the sacrifice that takes our sins away. JN4:10

My Soul's Beloved,

While yet clothed in human flesh and still on earth we will never fully grasp the magnitude of God's love for us. It is a mystery whose infinite depths we will not be able to plumb even in eternity.

Why does God love me? Why did He create me? I am aware of how unworthy I am of Your love. I know the gravity of my past sins I know that I am weak, frail, a miserable sinner who is quite unworthy of the love of God, and yet the glory and joy of it allis that you do. You love me with a divinely mad passion God has loved me so much that He wanted me to know it conclusively so there would be no doubts ever in my mind that I was loved to the point of divine madness The Father desired to show Me how much He loves Me by giving You up as the ransom for my freedom You love Me so madly You agreed to do it and the Holy Spirit teaches me how to respond to such love I deserve death I deserve hell I deserve to be forgotten by you for I have not done one worthy thing that worthy of heaven and I have done much that is deserving of hell.

Yet, You created me. You called by name. You have washed me in the life-giving waters of baptism and I am a child of God and heir to the Kingdom of heaven. I am wedded to You through the Church You founded and the Holy Spirit lives in me, and directs my footsteps in the way to eternal life.

Even when you would have rightly wiped me off the face of the earth for my offences against You were great, You have shown me infinite kindness, tenderness, compassion, and unfailing love. No human love is as sweet and as satisfying as Your love for me. You have carried me when I had no strenth of my own. You consoled me when my heart was broken You did not condemn me when I seinned and turned away from you deliberaly and coldly You wooed me you pursued me your kept loving me until I could no longer I realized that only life with you knowing you loving you and being loved by You was a life worth living Thank you for loving me irrevocbaly I love you weak frail shallow and fragile though my love is it is your Take me and hide me in your Sacred Heart thins weak miserable soul is all yours lose me in you Beloved and forget that I am in you That is all I ask Thank You

My Soul's Beloved,

In obedience to Your Father's will, You became the means by which the whole of humanity is saved. You took our brokenness, our estrangement from God, all the foulness of our sins and the punishment that goes with it upon Yourself. You absorbed it and in return, You gave us salvation and new life. You gave us a new beginning, new hope, new joy, and a new song. You give us eternal life, You give us a place of rest in Your Sacred Heart where we can drink deep from the life-giving waters that flow from You and be refreshed, renewed, and reinvigorated.

To You, we owe eternal praise and thanksgiving which we even now have begun to offer You and will continue to offer You until our days on earth come to a close and we will take it up anew when we behold You face to face in heaven.

Thank You, Lord, for the hope we have in You without which we would be sad, hopeless, and joyless people. But thanks be to God our Father, to You our Savior, and to the Holy Spirit, our Helper we are a people of the resurrection and eternal joy is our inheritance through You.

My Soul's Beloved,

Almost every great saint, like St. Paul, has a murky, sinful, past but the love of God is so great He will not rest until we come to the realization that our sins do not define us the love of God in You does. We are sinners who have been saved, ransomed, purchased by God, and now belong to Him completely, irrevocably, and eternally. Even as God laid the foundations of the earth He thought of us, brooded over us, planned the course of our lives through all our missteps ensuring that through it all we would reach our final destination safely.

He did it slowly, surely, painstakingly knowing how stubborn willful, hard-headed, and hard-hearted we are. He revealed Himself little by little, as much as our finite minds could understand, until the time had finally arrived to give His love a Face, and a human form in You. He desired us to make His love for us visible and tangible in You.

"Why?"  St. Paul sums up the answer to his question succinctly. "So that the Sovereignties and Powers should learn only now, through the Church, how comprehensive God’s wisdom really is, exactly according to the plan which he had had from all eternity in Christ Jesus our Lord. This is why we are bold enough to approach God in complete confidence, through our faith in him."

This, then, is what I pray, kneeling before the Father, from whom every family, whether spiritual or natural, takes its name:

JOHN 19:31-37 ©

My Soul's Beloved,

On the day before the Sabbath, Maundy Thursday, You instituted the Sacrament of the Most Holy Eucharist ensuring for all time that Your Body and Your Blood were to be our food and drink so we could have Your life in us. Without this life, we perish.

On the day before the Sabbath, Good Friday, You were impaled on the Cross - nails did not hold You aloft, divine love did. For three agonizing hours, bridging heaven to earth You made a perfect atonement for the sins of the whole world. You paid a debt we owed but had no way of paying.

In order not to defile the Sabbath the Jews got permission from Pilate to break the bones of those who were crucified to ensure that they died quickly and could be taken away for burial. When the soldiers found You were already dead, they did not break Your legs but pierced Your side with a lance.

In doing this they fulfilled two prophecies:

Not one bone of his will be broken;
and again, in another place scripture says:
They will look on the one whom they have pierced.

Today the Church celebrates the love of God by celebrating Your Sacred Heart that was pierced for love of us. Every Christian has received a divine mandate to make known the love of God that is made visible on the Cross of Calvary so no one can ever claim that they are unloved.
