TUESDAY OF THE SECOND WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME - 2021

DAILY HOLY MASS READINGS

May the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ
enlighten the eyes of our mind,
so that we can see what hope his call holds for us. EP 1:17,18

HEBREWS 6:10-20

My Soul's Beloved,

You assure us that even if we give a glass of cold water to those who are Yours we will receive a reward. This ought to encourage us to keep doing good always and to avoid every evil thought, word, and action. Faith is made visible by the witness and testimony of the way in which we live our lives and conduct ourselves this is the only acceptable way we can glorify and honor You. You have shown us the way we are invited to follow in Your footsteps every step of the way and we will be safe.

You are the fulfillment of God's promises, God's Covenant, God's oath - You are His Eternal Word. He has but one that that Word, Beloved, is You. Your Word is our guide, our assurance of all we long for, and is our final reward. God's Word once uttered is unchangeable, unalterable, proceeding from His mouth it accomplishes all He desires it to and will not return to Him void. Faith in God's Covenant is our guarantee that You, who ripped apart the veil separating us from God, rending it in Your Flesh, will grant admittance through it to all who believe in Your glorious work of salvation into the Presence of God. There we will remain with You and all the angels and saints in perfect and exultant joy and peace eternally,

PSALM 111:1-2,4-5,9,10

My Soul's Beloved,

Sometimes I am slow to thank You and yet You never stop pouring Your graces and blessings on me and on those I love and pray for every day. Thank You for Your great faithfulness and for leaving Your imprint on all creation so we are constantly reminded of You and Your love for us.

Thank You for instituting the Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist. This is the heavenly bread that guarantees the strength needed for our pilgrimage through this valley of tears. Thank You for a living and imperishable reminder of Your compassion and love for sinners through Your death on the Cross and for the hope that we will receive a share in Your glorious resurrection.

Thank You for the Church and for her liturgical seasons through which she keeps Your memory alive in her feasts and fasts and sustains us in grace, through the Sacraments of life, and healing.

May our praise and worship raised to You, our glorious Lord and King, in every celebration of the sacred mysteries, in the Church You founded, resound through all the earth and the heavens. Grant, O Lord, that by our faithful witness to the Truth all may come to know You and believe in You, thus may we hasten the hour of Your triumphant return in glory to claim us eternally for Yourself.

MARK 2:23-28

My Soul's Beloved,

When we walk with You we are fed and nourished by Bread and Wine ground in the mill and crushed in the winepress of suffering. At every celebration of the Holy Mass, we are reminded that the Cross is the surest way to gain admittance to the Kingdom of God.

You are above the Law because there is no law in love. This is what You wish to teach the Pharisees who were sticklers in keeping the letter of the law while ignoring its spirit. They did more harm than good, caused more anxiety than peace, and spread distress rather than hope and encouragement. You condemned them for laying heavy burdens on the poor but did little to help them carry it.

Nothing is forbidden when the motive is love, compassion, tenderness, and mercy. We are called to heal not harm, to comfort not wound, to love not condemn. David ate the loaves of offering that only the priests were allowed to eat and shared it with his men because they were hungry. You desire us always and everywhere to show mercy, all our sacrifices are meaningless if they are not prompted by love alone.

Let us always take comfort in this truth - You are our Lord and our God. We are saved not by what we do but by who we are in You. You are the Master even of the sabbath.
