DAILY HOLY MASS READINGS
Blessed are you, holy Virgin Mary,
and most worthy of all praise,
for the sun of justice, Christ our God,
was born of you.
MICAH 5:1-4
My Beloved, Soul of my soul,
All through the Old Testament are signposts that lead us to the final revelation, to You, Emmanuel, the Son of God who is with us. One such signpost is the prophecy of Micah who reveals that You will be born in Bethlehem of Judah which is the least of the 12 tribes of Israel.
After millennia of God's people playing fast and loose with Him the time of salvation is finally drawing close. God will not abandon His chosen ones despite their infidelity. The Woman, clothed with the Sun of Justice, will finally give birth to the Messiah. It is God's plan that You draw all of creation through You back to the Creator for You are the power of God, the glory of God, the Peace of God, and the Love of God.
PSALM 13:6-7
My Beloved, Soul of my soul,
The gold standard, the hallmark of every Christian is not just joy, but exultant joy, as the psalmist says.
All God's children rejoice in the Lord because of what He has done for us. His plan of salvation stripped the veil that separated us so He could walk with us once more just as He did with our first parents in the Garden of Eden.
Every psalm reveals God's love for us and our relationship with Him. Every psalm draws us deeper into the mysteries of God's life in us. They help us understand how to accept all that happens to us in this valley of tears through Your eyes and with Your vision.
You are God's final Covenant of Love with us, one that is eternal. Thank You for Your merciful love and Your saving help moment by moment, day after day, and Your assurance that You will be with us to the end.
MATTHEW 1:1-16, 18-23
My Beloved, Soul of my soul,
Your genealogy, written by Matthew, traces Your male ancestry from the time of Abraham and includes just four women apart from Your Mother.
From the fall of our first parents to the birth of Mary God was preparing, purifying, molding, and sculpting His most exquisite masterpiece, Mary, full of grace, Virgin, and Mother of His only Son, You.
Today the Church celebrates the birthday of her Mother, her Queen, Co-redemptrix with You and Mediatrix of all graces through You, her Son. All her radiance, all her glory, all her beauty is but a reflection of her glorious Son. She was the delight of heaven from the moment of her conception and she delighted in God from the moment she first drew breath.
Thank You, Father, for giving us such a perfect model of grace, thank You Jesus for giving us such a perfect Mother, thank You Holy Spirit for giving us such a perfect disciple. With Mary, as our guide, our star of the ocean, our Queen, we can be sure that we will reach our eternal home safely.
