DAILY HOLY MASS READINGS
Shoulder my yoke and learn from me,
says the Lord,
for I am gentle and humble in heart. MT 11:29
EZEKIEL 2:8 - 3:4
My Beloved, Soul of my soul,
You are the Eternal Word of the Living God. Your Word is food and drink to all who believe in the Word of God, made flesh, who came to live among us. In Your Word alone, Beloved is found fullness of life, grace, and truth for it is the Way that leads us to our Father's house.
All who believe in You are saved. All who are baptized and grafted into Your Body are saved. You are the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. You are the only Son of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten not made one in substance with the Father through whom all things were made. You, Beloved, are sweeter than honey in the comb. You are the Bread of Life, You are the Gate into the Kingdom of God.
Thank You, Father, for the gift of faith in Your Son.
My Beloved, Soul of my soul,
Mary, Your Mother, was the disciple par excellence, she delighted in the will of God. Her whole life was a yielding to Him and to His will. It was food and drink to her as it was to You.
We who are called by Your Name discover that life is wonderfully blessed when we bend our will to Yours. You who know all things and who love us desire to give only good things to those who are Your own.
We are invited to live according to the law of love written on our hearts. We are given only two commandments to love God with our whole heart, soul, mind, body, and spirit, and to love our brothers and sisters as well as we love ourselves. This law of love that guides the course of our life will bring us safely through all the storms of life to our final rest in You.
MATTHEW 18:1-5, 10, 12-14
My Beloved, Soul of my soul,
The virtue of humility is one that is dear to the heart of God for He Himself constantly stoops in humility over His wayward, disobedient, errant, sinful flock. In fact, Beloved, God stooped so low, He became one like us in all things save sin, so our Father in heaven could save us. Humility is the hallmark of God, our Savior.
You invite us today to have a childlike simplicity, to be ignorant in the ways of the world but wise in the ways of God. Here is another paradox of the Kingdom of God, those who wish to be great must become the least of all and the servant of all. The worldlywise are unable to wrap their heads around a God who loves so greatly He is prepared to make Himself small for our sake, suffer for our sake, and die for our sake.
There have always been people in the world who have rejected the ones that are most defenseless, and vulnerable, the child in the womb. To these, You say, ‘Anyone who welcomes a little child like this in my name welcomes me. ‘See that you never despise any of these little ones, for I tell you that their angels in heaven are continually in the presence of my Father in heaven.
However, we also have a God who is full of compassion and love, slow to anger, and ready to show mercy and forgive those who stray. In fact, Beloved, You assure us that there is more rejoicing in heaven when the one lost sheep is found than over the ninety-nine who did not need rescuing. Thank You for loving us with a that is beyond our human understanding.
