THE MOST HOLY TRINITY - 2020

DAILY HOLY MASS READINGS

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit; the God who is, who was, and who is to come. RV 1:8

EXODUS 34:4-6, 8-9

My Beloved, Soul of my soul,

Once we know and recognize You as, 'The Lord, a God of tenderness and compassion, slow to anger, rich in kindness and faithfulness,’ we too, like Moses, will fall to the ground and worship You.

We thank You, Father, for loving us so much that You sent us Your only Son, Jesus, to redeem us. Thank You Jesus, for revealing the Father's unconditional love for us. Thank You for not leaving us orphans but sending us Your Holy Spirit to make His home in us. Thank You, Holy Spirit of the Father and the Son, for making us daughters and sons of God by virtue of the grace of Baptism. Yes, we are a headstrong and sinful people but we are grateful and thankful that You always forgive us our faults and our sins, and have adopted us as Your children.

DANIEL 4:52-56

My Beloved, Soul of my soul,

Father, Son, and Holy Spirit - one God. Thank You for not destroying us as we rightly deserved but for revealing Yourself to us beginning with Abraham. Thank You, Father, for choosing a people and making a Covenant with them. Thank You for forming a people and a nation through whom You would send Your Son, incarnate of the Virgin Mary, to redeem the world. Thank You, Jesus, for Your obedience even unto death on the Cross and for crushing death and giving us all hope of eternal life with You. Thank You for not abandoning us after Your ascension into heaven but for sending us Your Holy Spirit who abides in us and helps to achieve the goal, which is eternal life.

Grant O Lord, that we will never cease praising You, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit as long as we have breath. Amen.

2 CORINTHIANS 13:11-13

My Beloved, Soul of my soul,

The whole purpose of the life of a Christian is to grow in perfection. We are members of Your Body and in order to be happy, we must live with one another in peace and love.

It is easy to get discouraged when we look at our world today, but the world has always been this way. Evil has always co-existed with good. The Good News is that we will always possess Your grace, the love of God our Father, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit. Through grace, we will be a sign of contradiction in the world. By being imitators of the Eternal Word made Flesh, more and more will come to believe and the Kingdom of God will be established among us.

JOHN 3:16-18

My Beloved, Soul of my soul,

You came into the world sent by God, our Father, to reveal to us that God is love. No matter how frightful the world looks right now, no matter how dark our days and how far into the horizon hope has gone, this incomparable, incomprehensible truth remains forever,‘God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not be lost but may have eternal life. For God sent his Son into the world not to condemn the world, but so that through him the world might be saved.'

Beloved, every baptized Christian has been given the mandate to go out into the world, and announce this Good News. This is the burden that is laid on us - a burden that is light if we are yoked to You. Eternal separation from You is hell. Unless we grasp the horror of what Your words mean, 'No one who believes in him will be condemned; but whoever refuses to believe is condemned already, because he has refused to believe in the name of God’s only Son,’ we will not have the fervor and passion of St. Paul and all the missionaries through the ages, who gave up the world in order to bring many souls to believe in You and be saved.
