DAILY HOLY MASS READINGS
Shoulder my yoke and learn from me,
for I am gentle and humble in heart. MT 11:29
DEUTERONOMY 7:6-11
My Beloved, Soul of my soul,
Moses told the people that God had chosen them from all the nations to be His own. However, to You, my Lord Jesus, the Father has given the people of every nation, language, culture, and color, to be Your Own. To all who believe in the Son is given the power to become a people consecrated to You, our Savior, our Redeemer, our Messiah, our Lord and our God. We were chosen by God, even before He laid the foundations of the earth to be Your own, to be baptized into Your Body, to belong to the family of God, and become co-heirs with You to the Kingdom of heaven.
May we always keep the two great commandments, in keeping them we keep all the the others. If we are faithful, You assure us of Your graciousness for a thousand generations. No one can outdo You, our loving God, in faithfulness and generosity.
PSALM 103:1-4, 6-8, 10
My Beloved, Soul of my soul,
We cannot thank You enough for giving us the gift of the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Were it not for this gift many of us would not be able to receive You in the Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist for we are all inclined to sin, and often grievously. Without this Sacrament of Forgiveness, Mercy, and Pardon, we could never be reconciled to You again, could never eat Your Flesh and drink Your Blood and receive divine life. May our love for You give us a holy fear of committing grave sin and imperiling our immortal soul.
Grant that all our priests everywhere in the world make the Sacrament of Reconciliation easily accessible. Instead of the sheep looking for the shepherd, may it be the shepherd that goes out tirelessly in search of his sheep so all may experience Your rich mercy, compassion, love and forgiveness of all our sins in Confession.
1 JOHN 4:7-16
My Beloved, Soul of my soul,
We can only love You after we have experienced Your love for us. You loved us first. You came to reveal the Father's love for us. You came as the perfect Image and Icon of God so we could know Him, love Him, serve Him, and be happy with Him in this live and in eternity.
God loves us passionately. Only God whose nature is love would give up His only Son to die for us to redeem a fallen world. God's love is so incomprehensible to human understanding, He gave You up in a bloody Sacrifice to take away my sins and the sins of the world.
John, the disciple of love says, "No one has ever seen God; but as long as we love one another God will live in us and his love will be complete in us." Love begets love and love for neighbor is the litmus test of whether or not we love You.
MATTHEW 11:25-30
My Beloved, Soul of my soul,
Today the Church celebrates the Feast of Your Sacred Heart. That Heart that was pierced with a lance and blood and water flowed for the remission of sins and for the life of the world.
It is this Heart, burning with love for us all that we receive in the Holy Eucharist. It is in this profound way that we are drawn into the life of the Trinity. There is no other. For You have said, "Very truly, I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you". You meant us to take these words literally if You didn't You would have softened the words rather than reiterate it even more forcefully. Several of Your disciples left and You let them go. To this day many reject this teaching, and many who once believed have rejected it too. It is far better to be numbered with mere children rather than the learned, clever and worldly-wise.
To all who desire to find a refuge in Your Sacred Heart, You say, ‘Come to me, all you who labour and are overburdened, and I will give you rest. Shoulder my yoke and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. Yes, my yoke is easy and my burden light.’
