Acts 6:1-7, Psalm 33:1-2, 4-5, 18-19, John 6:16-21

DAILY HOLY MASS READINGS

Christ is risen, who made all things;
he has shown mercy on all people.

Acts 6:1-7, Psalm 33:1-2, 4-5, 18-19, John 6:16-21

Acts 6:1-7

Dear Love, Beloved of my soul,

I thank you for the evangelist Luke who has written down and recorded for all ages what the Apostles did after the Ascension and how the Church grew into the Living Entity it is now.  You planted the mustard seed. You provided the Holy Spirit. You poured out Your Life as You continue to do to this day and that little seed has put down roots deep into the Holy Spirit and has grown mightily with many branches. The whole world can find a place in it exactly as You said in the Parable of the Mustard Seed.

As time went on all kinds of problems cropped up as the number of believers grew. The Holy Spirit inspired them constantly and helped them discern what You wanted them to do and so our first Bishops appointed priests to help them carry out the work and the mission that was entrusted to them.

We thank St. Luke for giving us names, places, time frames, etc. so today when fragments of those times are unearthed we find proof positive of all that is recorded in the New Testament for the skeptic. The exemplary life of the early Church attracted even those who belonged to the Jewish priestly class became believers.

Grant O Lord that there are always, in Your Church, many who are prepared to set the world on fire with love for You thus attracting many, many more to believe in You.

Psalm 33:1-2, 4-5, 18-19

Dear Love, Beloved of my soul,

Because I am Your follower my song of praise must never cease for as long as I am alive. My thanksgiving for Your innumerable mercies should overflow from a grateful heart always.

Holy Spirit, You have been truly gracious to me.  You have inspired me to write down all that my Beloved is constantly doing for me. Thank You for my little flame of love which You keep alive and burning steadily even though it is so tiny.

Beloved, keep me faithful to the end I beg You. You better than everyone else knows how frail I am and weak I am and so easily prone to temptation. Do not let go Beloved I beg You if You do I will be lost forever.

Lord, let your mercy be on us, as we place our trust in you.

John 6:16-21

Dear Love, Beloved of my soul,

There will be times when the Bark of St. Peter will face terrible storms just as it has in the past. Satan and all his evil forces are at work tirelessly to bring her down. They know that time is short and we are living the last age and they want to bring as many as they can to ruin and eternal damnation.

It is evening Beloved, and as we wait in joyful hope for Your Coming in glory we will not be disturbed for You have assured us that You have prayed not only for Peter but for the whole Church.

We will not be afraid even when there is division and dissension within the Church. We shall not be scandalized for You have warned us that it must be so for evil does not sleep. You say to us constantly as You said then when they say You walking on the stormy water and approaching the boat,

"It is I. Do not be afraid."
They wanted to take him into the boat,
but the boat immediately arrived at the shore
to which they were heading.

Beloved, we will reach that glorious shore for You will ensure that we get there.  Thank You.
