DAILY HOLY MASS READINGS

Teach me your paths, my God,
and guide me in your truth. Ps 25:4, 5

2 Corinthians 3:4-11, Psalm 99:5-9, Matthew 5:17-19

2 Corinthians 3:4-11

Dear Love,

The Commandments given to Moses brought about an awareness of sin that leads to death. These were etched in stone and each time Moses entered the tent of Presence he had to veil his face for it shone with the glory of God. St. Paul now enlightens us on how much greater is the Spirit of God that brings with it life for it is the Spirit that teaches us, guides us, and leads us on the paths of righteousness and holiness.

You came into the world and You revealed that there was something far greater than just the awareness of sin and that is the life lived in the Spirit which leads to eternal life in glory. From the very beginning the Father intended that this life be present in His children when He breathed this life giving breath into the nostrils of Adam. Through sin this gift was lost forever until the Father sent You into the world , the perfect visible Image of the invisible God and once again You breathed Your Holy Spirit upon the nascent Church and once again we now look forward with hope to enduring glory with You in heaven.

Psalm 99:5-9

Dear Love,

You are holy and from all time You are worshipped as all that lives bows before You and acknowledges that You are God.  You are the God of all ages from Abraham, to Moses, to Aaron to the present day. We call upon Your Name,we believe in Your Name and believing we live.

You always hear and answer our prayers. Your angels minister to us and carry our intercessions tirelessly to the throne of grace and God hears and answers for You have assured us, "If anyone asks the Father for anything in My Name, He will grant it."

God was present in the  pillar of cloud, You are present to us in all the tabernacles of the world where You are adored, worshiped and glorified. We receive forgiveness of sin because You paid the ransom that set us free. We are now Your and You assure us that You never forsake those that belong to You.

Matthew 5:17-19

Dear Love,

The law that came down through the Moses and prophets were summed up in the two great laws of love. The first is to love God above and before all with all our heart, mind, soul, body and strength and the second is to love our neighbour as we love ourselves. This law will not change until time has run its course, the heavens and the earth passes away and You will return to establish a new heaven and to a new earth. All of us who are privilege to be called by Your Name, Christians, are reminded that we must obey these laws of love and teach others to obey them as well. If we do we are assured of a place in heaven.
