Isaiah 6:1-8, Psalm 93:1-2 & 5, Matthew 24-33

DAILY HOLY MASS READINGS

Isaiah 6:1-8, Psalm 93:1-2 & 5, Matthew 24-33

Isaiah 6:1-8

My Beloved, our experience ought to be like that of the prophet Isaiah each time we gather to celebrate the Sacred Liturgy.  At every Eucharistic celebration the Holy Place is filled with Your Presence, the angels and the archangels, the cherubim and the seraphim and all saints join us in worship as we praise, glorify and thank God for His goodness, mercy and love.  We join the sacrifice of our lives with the one, holy and perfect sacrifice offered by You to the Father as the Lamb of Sacrifice, the willing Victim and the Altar of Sacrifice to take away the sins of the world.  You touch the lips of all present with the fiery coal of love, You cleanse us and fit us to receive the great commission anew as You say, Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And we respond, Here I am. Send me!”
 Psalm 93:1-2 & 5

My Beloved, God has raised You up and given You dominion over all that is in heaven and on earth.  You reign over all creation.  Robed in glory and majesty and seated on the throne of mercy, justice and righteousness You rule over all the earth.  You are girded with the strength of God and Your throne is everlasting.  The world is saved, redeemed and sanctified by You.  It belongs to You and so does everything in it and the power of darkness will never prevail against it.

Your Word is true, Your commands are just and Your Church, the house where You dwell in fullness, will stand firm from age to age until You come again in glory to judge the living and the dead.

Matthew 24-33

My Beloved, there is a banquet for the soul in all these verses. There is so much You say to Your disciples, Your followers, the members of Your Church. It seems too much to take in all at once. Each of us is called to be Your icon in the world. You assure us that if You were persecuted we can expect persecution as well. You tell us not to be afraid for You are Emmanuel, God with us. No matter how evil the plots of the enemy, no matter how surreptitiously they work, their evil deeds will be uncovered and they will be shamed.

All that the Church received from You as seed will grow and flourish and birds of every kind will nest in her and be fed by her bountiful fruit.

Our soul belongs to You and nothing but sin can kill it so although the enemy crushes our body they can do no more. We are more precious to You than many sparrows and Your knowledge of us is so intimate and complete that You know the number of hairs on our head.

As long as we stand with You we triumph but against You and apart from You we will discover that the Father will not acknowledge us, will not recognize us and will declare that He does not know us.

Never ever let me parted from You my Beloved.
