Joshua 24:1-2, 15-18, Ephesians 5:21-32, Psalm 34;2-3, 16-19, John 6:60-69

DAILY HOLY MASS READINGS:

My Beloved, I make the pledge of Joshua and the people of Israel my own today.  As for me and my family, we shall serve the Lord.  I acknowledge wonders You have done for me.  I thank You for sparing my soul from eternal death and setting me free from the slavery of sin.  Thank You Lord.

My Beloved, if every Christian family took these verses written by St. Paul to heart and lived but its wisdom and truth, every family would be a reflection of the Holy Family in Nazareth.

Both husband and wife are in equal partnership in a marriage although their roles are different.  A wife nurtures, a husband provides and protects.  The wife leans on her husband not because she is weak but because she loves and so she yields in love.  Her husband is a much in need of the strength that is hers.  If the strength that she possesses in unavailable to him then he suffers and cannot be the complete man he is called to be.  They need each other, they complement each other.  They complete and perfect each other.

I sing with the psalmist and praise and thank You for all You have done for me.  I praise and thank You for hearing my prayers and hastening to my side to rescue me.  Each time I called, You heard and You helped me.  I am not discouraged for You are always with me and I have Your word that You will never abandon me.

My Beloved, for the privilege and the gift of being Catholic, I bow down and humbly thank You.  For the gift of the Holy Eucharist and the Holy Spirit that makes my belief in Your Real Presence in what continues to look like ordinary bread and wine after the Consecration, I thank You.  For the food that gives eternal life, I thank You and I bow down in adoration and worshipful love to the Father who conceived this stupendous plan.  Thank You.
