Daily Meditation:  Ezekiel 39:29

Ezekiel 39:29

29 Never again shall I hide my face from them because I shall pour out my Spirit on Israel – word of God.”

Beloved, thank You for this wonderful promise that You will never hide Your Face from us.  If You did my Lord, we would die.  Please Beloved, stay with us always.  I come to You today in my need, grant all the members of our family what they require to lead happy and fulfilled lives.  You have said that all those who come to You shall lack no good thing.  You always keep Your promises. Recall Your Word O Lord and bless us.  Thank You.

Daily Mass Readings:  Exodus 14:21:21---15:1, Matthew 12:46-50,
                                       Exodus 15:8-10, 12, 17

Exodus 14:21:21---15:1

Beloved, there are times in our life when  we are faced with insurmountable difficulties, terror seems to lurk everywhere.  We seem hemmed in on every side with no light in sight.  Then suddenly from nowhere help arrives and You bring about a perfect solution - just like You did for the Israelites.

You parted the Red Sea and Your people walked on dry ground.  Your people were saved and Pharaoh and his army were destroyed.

Matthew 12:46-50

"Whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is for me brother, sister and mother."

Here is another lesson that speaks of the reality of the Kingdom of God.  Beloved, You never let a good teaching moment go to waste, I am sure You learned that from Mother Mary herself.  She came with relatives to visit You and when You were told that they were waiting to see You, You looked at the crowd around You who were all there for different reasons.  Some had come out of curiosity, others were looking to be healed, still others wanted to hear You preach and teach, still others may have been there to be part of the excitement and they had nothing else to do.  Only a few like Your disciples were they because they wanted to hear what You had to say, follow You and lead changed lives.

Mama Mary's life was one of total and perfect surrender to God.  "I am the handmaid of the Lord, may it be done to me according to Your Word." This is what she said at the Annunciation and she this is how she lived her entire life.  She is a Mother par excellence.  She is not only Mother to You but Mother to the entire human race.  If we want to be as closely affiliated and related to You as to be called Your mother, brother and sister, we would do well to use Mama Mary as our role model.

Exodus 15:8-10

8 At the blast of your nostrils the waters piled up,
the surging waters stood firm in a heap;
the deeps congealed in the heart of the sea.
9 The enemy said, “I will give chase and overtake,
I will divide the spoil and make a feast of it.
I shall draw my sword and my hand will destroy them.”
10 A breath of yours and the sea covered them;
they sank like lead in the mighty waters.
