Daily Meditation: John 10:26-30
John 10:26-30
26 The works I do in my Father’s name proclaim who I am, but you don’t believe because, as I said, you are not my sheep.
27 My sheep hear my voice and I know them; they follow me 28 and I give them eternal life. They shall never perish and no one will ever steal them from me. 29 What the Father has given me is above everything else and no one can snatch it from the Father’s hand. 30 I and the Father are one.”
Beloved, to know You, to love You and to serve You is only given to those who have faith. This is a gift that is freely given at baptism and is nurtured and fostered in the home. Cradle Catholics are especially blessed. There are others who seek the truth and if they are genuinely and sincerely seeking without bias or prejudice, they will find it ultimately in Rome. People of all faiths have taken different roads seeking You and every genuine seeker from St. Paul to G. K. Chesterton to John Cardinal Newman right through the ages, the great and the small, the humble and the proud, the intelligent and the illiterate, have all found You in the fullness of Truth in Rome. They have You in the Holy Father, (Peter's successor), the Eucharist, in the Sacraments and each one of them has fallen on their knees in humble and joyful gratitude.
If one does not belong to the fold, nothing can persuade them that You are indeed the Christ, the Son of the Living God.
Beloved, there are some who have an absolute hatred for all things Catholic by they call themselves Christian. They profess You as Lord with their lips but their hearts are far from You for they lack love.
We know we belong to You. We love Your voice as it always speaks the truth in love. We hear Your voice in the voice of Peter, Your chief shepherd on earth. You feed us in verdant pastures and no power on earth or the underworld can snatch us away from You. It is Your Father who has chosen us and entrusted us to You and so we need never be anxious, worried or afraid. We can rest in perfect peace always for we are Yours in life and in death, now and eternally.

Daily Mass Readings: Acts 2:14, 36-41, 1 Peter 2:20-25, John 10:1-10, Psalm 23:1-6
Acts 2:14, 36-41
When Peter speaks the Church listens for Peter speaks the Truth. Anyone who seeks the truth need only listen to his voice. If anyone wants to be saved Peter tells us how it is possible in verses 38-41. All whom God has called to the fullness of truth will find themselves within the arms of Rome, for where Peter is there is Your Church.
1 Peter 2:20-25
Today both Catholics and Christians the world over are being persecuted and they offer suffer physical, social and mental torture and isolation as punishment for their faith. To these who are called to bear witness to You in their suffering will be rewarded by You. You have found them worthy to suffer for Your sake. If we always follow Your example in all things, You will gives us all we need to be faithful to the end for You are the Shepherd and Guardian of our souls.
John 10:1-10
The Holy Spirit who is poured into our hearts is our Helper and Guide. It is Your Spirit who resides in us and speaks to us. If we are still, if we ask for His help, He will lead and guide us. You know us by name and we recognize Your voice. Thank You for the life giving pasture You provide in Scripture and the Eucharist. Thank You for the Sacraments which are channels of grace which refresh and revive our souls. Thank You for the life we receive because we are Your flock and You are our Shepherd.
Psalm 23:1
