1 Samuel 30:6, 2 Maccabees 1:2-3, 5, Acts 5:27-33, John 3:31-36, Psalm 34:2, 9, 17-20

Daily Meditations: 1 Samuel 30:6, 2 Maccabees 1:2-3, 5,

1 Samuel 30:6
David found strength in the Lord, his God.

2 Maccabees 1:2-3, 5,
May God fill you with every good and remember his covenant with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, his faithful servants. May he give you all a heart to worship him and to fulfill his will with generosity and a well-disposed spirit.
May he hear your prayers and be reconciled with you, and not abandon you in time of misfortune. This is what we now pray for you.

My Beloved, I claim each of these blessings for myself and for each member of my family. And again, not only for each member of my family but for each one that I pray for daily by name.

You are trustworthy and You fulfill each one of Your promises in due time.  My heart and soul sing for joy because I have so glorious a God - You are a Redeemer, a Savior, who does not look at our sins but looks at us with mercy and compassion.  In love, You find a way to lead us to contrition and repentance so You can forgive us completely, casting our sins as far away as the east is from the west.

Daily Mass Readings:  Acts 5:27-33, John 3:31-36, Psalm 34:2, 9, 17-20

Acts 5:27-33

My Beloved, if only every Catholic and Christian had the courage of St. Peter after Pentecost we would be unafraid to live counter to the prevalent culture of the day and Your Kingdom would be established now among us on earth, as we each lived according to Your will.

Just as in the past, today too, people begin to froth at the mouth when confronted with God's commandments which must be used as a measure  by all men and women in our daily affairs.  They are prepared to kill the truth and silence it by any means.  It is done mostly through ridicule and scorn  and by enacting and imposing evil laws.  Christians today live in difficult times and those who strive daily to live holy and godly lives, even as they struggle, You will grant every grace needed to persevere.

Thank You for the grace You pour upon us through the Sacraments, especially the Sacrament of Reconciliation and the Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist.  Thank You for taking us to Heaven at each celebration of the Holy mass where we eat the food of Angels and are united to You, the Bridegroom, if only for a brief moment.

John 3:31-36,

The world should read or listen to these verses and tremble.  You always spoke the truth clearly and boldly.  There was no room for misunderstanding in what You said.  The people of the world fudge the truth, blur the lines of truth, push evil agendas and cloak it in deceit.  You came from Heaven and You revealed to us heavenly truths, You bore witness to the Truth and You came to die for Truth.

Every baptized Christian who lives in accordance with the faith in these difficult times, accepts and acknowledges Your testimony to the Truth.  The Catholic Church embraces this Truth in all its fullness through Sacred Scripture, the Magisterium and Sacred Tradition.

Only those who take You at Your Word and live their lives in union with You, can experience the joy of being filled and led by your Holy Spirit who is the Spirit of Truth.  You are a generous lover, all that the Father gave You and entrusted to You, You have freely given to us.  We believe Beloved and already here on earth we taste eternity.  Thank You.

Psalm 34:2, 9, 18-20
I will bless the Lord all my days;
his praise will be ever on my lips.
Oh, see and taste the goodness of the Lord!
Blessed is the one who finds shelter in him!
18 The Lord hears the cry of the righteous
and rescues them from all their troubles.
19 The Lord is close to the brokenhearted
and saves the distraught.
20 Many are the troubles of the just,
but the Lord delivers them from all.

These verses are like honey and balm to the soul.  There is no love as sweet as Yours my Beloved.
