Daily Meditation: Ephesians 1:17-22
Ephesians 1:17-22
17 May the God of Christ Jesus our Lord, the Father of Glory, reveal himself to you and give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation, that you may know him.
18 May he enlighten your inner vision, that you may appreciate the things we hope for, since we were called by God.
May you know how great is the inheritance, the glory, God sets apart for his saints;
19 may you understand with what extraordinary power he acts in favor of us who believe.
20 He revealed his almighty power in Christ when he raised him from the dead and had him sit at his right hand in heaven, 21 far above all rule, power, authority, dominion, or any other supernatural force that could be named, not only in this world but in the world to come as well.
22 Thus has God put all things under the feet of Christ and set him above all things, as head of the Church 23 which is his body, the fullness of him who fills all in all.
Beloved, it is the Holy, Mighty and Glorious Trinity that is at work most powerfully in those who believe. Father God, I believe in You, I believe in Your Son, My Beloved Lord Jesus Christ. I believe in the Holy Spirit who is the Spirit of Love that binds the Triune God in an unending bond of love. Therefore I can claim each one of these magnificent promises for my own.
You Father God, Father of the Beloved will reveal Yourself to me and will give me a spirit of wisdom and revelation in order that I might know You as Your Son the Beloved knows You Father. You will illumine my mind in order that I may grasp eternal truths and sincerely long for all that You have promised to those who believe.
I have a share in the inheritance that God has reserved for His own an inheritance of glory. The immense power of God is available to me and will work in my favor because I am grafted on to You my Lord Jesus Christ. You, the Beloved Son was raised from the death by God's power in the glorious resurrection and You are seated in majesty and power at the right hand of the Father. To You has been given power, dominion and rule far above any other ever known in the past, present or in the age to come.
My Beloved, God the Father has placed all things under Your feet. You reign in splendor above all. You are the Head of the Church which is Your Body. I am a member of Your Body because I belong to Your Church and so the fullness which is in Your Church is in me as well. I am all that You are my Beloved because I do not belong to myself but to You.
---- Mine, if you will only give me complete access and authority over you, if you will make Me the Master of your every present moment, you will experience all that St. Paul has expressed in these verses. You alone can help or hinder my work and the work of My Holy Spirit in you. All I have to give is yours if you will receive it with the simplicity of a child.
