DAILY HOLY MASS READINGS

Blessed are you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth;
you have revealed to little ones the mysteries of the Kingdom. Mt. 11:25

Ezekiel 18:1-10, 13B, 30-32, Psalm 51:12-15, 18-19, Matthew 19:13-15

Ezekiel 18:1-10, 13b, 30-32

My soul's beloved, my heart's delight, today You remind me that we are all responsible for our sins and that we alone have to pay the penalty for our transgressions. You will hold no one accountable other than the sinner for the deliberate wrongs he has done.

However, while we know that You are a just and righteous Judge appointed by the Father and who alone is worthy of sitting on the Seat of Judgment and to whom nothing is hidden, You will judge with compassion those who have repented and have begged forgiveness and pardon. If we turn away from sin and turn our direction back to the path of life You will not only wipe away all our sins and cast them behind You to be lost in the ocean of Your mercy and love, You will also give us a new heart and a new spirit so with the help of Your grace, we will be able to begin anew. You alone have the power to give new life, where once there was only death. You desire that all be saved and claim the inheritance You have won for us.  Too great a price was paid for our salvation and until the last breath is available to us, You will forgive all who repent.

Psalm 51:12-15, 18-19

My soul's beloved, only You can give us a new heart and a contrite spirit. Only You can lead the sinner home. Grant that I may never to be too afraid that the magnitude of my sins will close the door of forgiveness to me. There is no sin greater than Your desire to forgive the repentant sinner of all sin no matter how grave. You love the sinner so much that You took upon Yourself the punishment that was ours. The wages of sin is death and the price was non negotiable for no one who disobeys God can live and nothing the sinner does can bridge the chasm caused by sin. Only the innocent and guiltless could become the saving victim that could restore what was irrevocably lost.

Thank You Father for not giving up on us but for asking Your Son to  pay the price that would free us from eternal death and separation for the God of Love.

Matthew 19:13-15

My soul's beloved, than You for revealing to us the way in which we can always find our way back to You. If we have a childlike heart and a contrite spirit, if we are willing to have the faith and confidence that a child has in his parents, then we will never be afraid to run to You, throw ourselves into Your arms, weep in sorrow for offending You and begging You to forgive us for having sinned.

You have no patience with those who create barriers and stop Your little ones from running to You. It is to the little ones that the Kingdom belongs and anyone who is a hindrance will be called to account. "Let the children come to me, and do not prevent them; for the Kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." May we never forget it. May we remain, little and humble, so we always have access to You and can count on You to place Your hands on us and bless us.
